  • Poverty Bay Coffee's story is all about staying true to your mission. “We all want to believe that we’re going to be remembered for something valuable,” said founder and president Dan Olmstead. “Our mission from day one was to be a responsible community member. For us, that meant shade-grown coffee. That meant paying a decent wage. We wanted to be environmentally, economically good stewards and do right by our employees.” Dan started Poverty Bay Coffee in 1997 in a Seattle suburb. From the beginning, sales were primarily wholesale and at their café. However, in 2019, Dan’s daughter suggested they start selling in the Amazon store. When this opportunity led to sales growth, Dan decided to give his staff a pay raise. Now in his 60s, Dan donated his café to Fusion, a local non-profit that provides housing to women and families in need. By giving them a way to grow their own revenue, Poverty Bay Coffee is helping make what Dan calls a “small but significant dent in the homeless issue.” Does this story remind you of your own? The team behind Amazon's Sellers in Your Community program would love to hear from independent sellers like you. To learn more, go to https://lnkd.in/gNxMMvUA #SupportSmallWithAmazon
