The two months flew by in deep discussions, sketching ideas, testing flows, and learning how design shapes people’s everyday lives. But beyond the work, what I will always remember is the kindness, patience, and guidance I received. Thank you to Flipkart for giving me the chance to learn and contribute. To my mentors – Mangala Naveen Kumar, Shabir Ahmed, and Kirupali Pujara – thank you for trusting me, challenging my thinking, and supporting me at every step. We’re excited to welcome the newest addition to our strong leadership team - Srinivas Govindan, who joins us as Vice President, Fashion and will look into key portfolios including men’s fashion and Spoyl - Flipkart’s Gen Z fashion destination. In his role, he aspires to help Flipkart dominate the mass fashion space and become a comprehensive fashion solution provider in India, impacting the lives of many Indians daily! Inspired by the vibrant textile industry in his native areas of Tamil Nadu and Salem, Srinivas took up engineering in textile technology from PSG Tech, Coimbatore and went on to complete his post graduation in fashion management from NIFT Delhi. What followed was 21+ years of extensive experience in fashion and lifestyle retail across India and the Middle East. Srinivas joins us from Reliance Retail, where he held various leadership roles, most recently as the Head of Strategy and Products for its Fashion and Lifestyle division. Prior to that he was responsible for category management and private labels for apparel and non-apparel categories at Landmark Group Dubai, ABFRL and Landmark Group India. On the Flipside, Srinivas shares a deep love for photography (more on this soon!), and a passion for sports, including badminton, football, cycling and pickleball.
