Block an email address in Gmail

If you get unwanted emails, you can block the sender in Gmail. After you block the sender, all future emails from them go to Spam.

Block a sender

  1. On your computer, open Gmail.
  2. Open the message from the sender.
  3. At the top right, next to “Reply ,” click More More and then Block "{sender}."

Unblock a sender

  1. On your computer, open Gmail.
  2. Open the message from the sender.
  3. At the top right, next to “Reply ,” click More More and then Unblock "{sender}."

Review your blocked sender list

Important: If you can’t find the sender’s message, you can unblock them from your Gmail settings.

  1. On your computer, open Gmail.
  2. At the top right, open Settings settings.
  3. Click See all settings.
  4. At the top, click Filters and Blocked Addresses.
  5. Optional: To unblock, you can:
    1. Check the box next to each sender.
    2. Click Unblock selected addresses.
