The wait(list) is over! Anyone in the U.S. can now access AI Mode in Labs. We’re also adding new features — like more actionable info for shopping and local recommendations, combining Search’s real-time data with Gemini’s advanced capabilities. Get the latest here: https://lnkd.in/gqafQZKw

How does AI Mode in Google Search work? A custom version of Gemini issues related searches, a "query fan-out" technique, to find real-time info from the web, from our Knowledge Graph, and more. This provides a greater breadth and depth of information than a traditional Google search. Learn more: https://lnkd.in/emfp7x-f

Today we released the November 2024 core update to Google Search. This update is designed to continue our work to improve the quality of our search results by showing more content that people find genuinely useful and less content that feels like it was made just to perform well on Search. This has been added to our Search status dashboard at https://lnkd.in/ezpkZUJw and will be updated when the rollout is complete. For more information about core updates, please see https://lnkd.in/gjkpgQxy The rollout may take up to 2 weeks to complete.

We know many people, including those in the research community, value seeing previous versions of webpages when available. That’s why beginning today, we're adding links to the Internet Archive's Wayback Machine to our "About this result" panel, to give people quick context and make this helpful information easily accessible through Search. To access archive links, click on the three dots next to a search result. In the window that appears, click on the "More about this page" button, then look for the "See previous versions on Internet Archive's Wayback Machine" link. It will take a day or so for this to fully roll out and be available for those searching in 40 different languages. Learn more about how "About this result" works and other information it offers here: https://lnkd.in/ga6qfCmw
