WordPress Agent is your built-in helper. In the editor, it responds as you work and helps you create and edit content in real time. You can also message it on Telegram, by email, or in Slack. A connected AI agent (via MCP) is an outside AI tool, like ChatGPT or Claude, that you connect to your site so it can analyze, create, and manage content with your approval.
I already have a WordPress.com site. How do I start using AI tools?
For external AI connections, the easiest way to get connected is to use our ChatGPT plugin or Claude connector. Installation will walk you through the setup steps. You can also go to your MCP settings and follow the steps to connect your agent. Setup takes a few clicks.
On a paid plan, turn on WordPress Agent and it appears in your editor.
