Meta has launched a “tamagotchi-style” pet game called Waddle World, with virtual creatures that chat with users and create doodles to illustrate conversations.
Meta quietly launched an ‘AI pet journal’ app
And Waddle World isn’t the only weird app it’s launched lately.
And Waddle World isn’t the only weird app it’s launched lately.

According to its Apple and Play Store listings, the “16-bit pet care game” is not really a game, but “a daily journal disguised as a pet.” Users should talk, not type, with their pets, the description says, as well as play “cozy games” like stacking groceries or word games. The Play store description says:
A little friend that listens. A cozy world that’s yours. Waddle World is a cozy 16-bit world where your pixel pet lives. Hatch a virtual pet, visit whenever you like, and let it get to know you. No pressure, no streaks to protect, no scores to chase — just a warm little escape in the cracks of our day.
The app, noticed by social media consultant Matt Navarra, is listed as free and only available to adults in the Philippines. The cutesy, 16-bit pets come as Meta pushes a sickeningly sweet mascot and small Charm gadgets for its Muse AI agent.
Meta also quietly launched an AI fashion app called Style Sketch, which Navarra says is only available in Indonesia, Singapore and Thailand. We were not able to verify the location restrictions ourselves.
It’s not clear whether Meta plans to release Waddle World or Style Sketch in the US or elsewhere. We’ve reached out to Meta for more information about these apps and their availability.
