Agent frameworks make you write orchestration code. Cloud platforms make you hand over your data. Orkas is neither — an open-source, local-first multi-agent desktop app where you describe the goal in chat and a super-powered commander leads a team of specialist agents that do

I expected parallel workers to make Orkas’ agents faster. We built the feature, ran the benchmarks, and rolled it back. The idea seemed reasonable: split research or writing across several workers, then combine their results. Our initial A/B covered 14 internal scenarios, with

Google DeepMind unveiled Genie 4, its real-time world model. Key change: Genie 3 "is not aware of the agent's goal." Genie 4 adds a Gemini agent that knows the goal: it watches the scene, breaks it into steps, checks the generated frames, and replans. Still a research preview.

My thoughts on the agentic video editing wave: 1. There won't be one winner in agentic video editing. Speed, use case and workflow will always matter. Just as Cursor moves upmarket while Lovable caters to non-technical users, specialised video tools will continue to serve

A few thoughts on agentic video editing I’ve had over the last few days: 1. 99% of ads should be edited agentically now. If your editors are still editing in the timeline, they’re falling behind. I got a message from my senior VE saying that he’s putting out 5x edits/day now at
