This would create vigilantism as the norm. The average person doesn’t care about these silly theories; they want dangerous criminals kept away from their families, and if that isn’t done they’ll do it themselves. (And when they do, then what? You gonna . . . put them in prison?)

I'm a prison abolitionist for lots of reasons. One is that I find it unacceptably cruel as a form of social organization to lock people in cages and tell them they'll be beaten or killed if they try to get out.

Congratulations to the press once again, which did exactly the same thing in 2017, and then had the audacity to turn around and tell the people whom it had misled that they were wrong to think they hadn’t got a tax cut.

Many Americans can’t explain the One Big Beautiful Bill Act, our new poll found. Those who can are more likely to say it has helped the wealthy. One in three said the megabill had hurt their bottom line – a frustrating situation for top Republicans.🧵 🔗politi.co/4vO94tB

If it's déclassé to be "scared" of communists who want to destroy the United States, then I'm quite happy to be déclassé. There's plenty of evidence of what happens when they get their way.
