This is a major milestone for @curaffairs. One of our magazine's pieces, @alexskopic's great essay on the New Orleans Super Bowl, is featured in "The Best American Essays 2026." Most winners are from much older and more established publications like the New Yorker, Atlantic, etc.

I'm so delighted that our scrappy little New Orleans-based publication is can put out essays that match the quality of places with 10-100x the budget, staff, etc. We're building a vital independent media institution outside the NY-DC bubble.Alex really is a genius writer. One of the best I've ever read. We're so lucky to have him on staff and everyone should read his award-winning essay
Congrats!!
