Cell Phone and Other Electronic Devices in School—School-Based Policy
Medgar Evers College Preparatory School's policy contains a set of rules and guidelines concerning the possession and use of electronic devices by students during the school day. It specifies that personal internet-enabled devices are not permitted on school grounds and outlines exceptions to this rule. This policy also outlines the procedures for collecting, storing, and returning students’ electronic devices, as well as providing information for parents to contact their students. Included in this policy are the guidelines for students’ discipline when they disregard the DOE’s Discipline Code, the school’s policy, Chancellor's Regulation A-413, and the IAUSP, as well as the guidelines for confiscation and return of students' electronic devices.
