  • Continuing our 125th anniversary look back at Weyerhaeuser’s history, today we’re highlighting photos from 1951 to 1960. Post-World War II prosperity helped spur growth and innovation in all areas of our company. Weyerhaeuser expanded into new territories — including the U.S. South and Canada — launched new product lines and enhanced existing ones. At the same time, we continued improving our forest management practices and took steps across our operations to protect air and water quality. By the decade's end, we had emerged as one of the largest, most successful privately held companies in the United States and gained recognition as a leader in safety, sustainability, and community and employee relations. Experience the decade through a selection of photos courtesy of the Forest History Society. #TheWeyerhaeuserWay #WY125

  • Fire safety in a sawmill requires a lot of special equipment, from intricate systems of pipes and hoses to high-tech sensors. But even more important are the dedicated employees who keep it all in working order. At our Greenville lumber mill in Grifton, North Carolina, that responsibility resides with journey-level mechanic Gentry Hassell. Most days, you'll find Gentry — who also serves the community as a volunteer firefighter — inspecting, testing or troubleshooting some part of the fire system. "It makes me feel good to protect people and their belongings," Gentry says. "Between my job and volunteer firefighting, I feel like I'm able to make a real difference at the mill and in my community." Learn more about Gentry's career journey and the family connection that drew him to firefighting. #TheWeyerhaeuserWay #meetourpeople https://lnkd.in/eBHVhk3W

We continue to mark Weyerhaeuser’s 125th anniversary with local celebrations in our operating communities across North America. Earlier this month, our team in Kenora, Ontario, proudly participated in an annual charity golf tournament supporting Lake of the Woods District Hospital, which serves as the main source of health care in this remote and rural area. Kenora has been an important community for Weyerhaeuser since we opened our TimberStrand® laminated strand lumber facility there more than 20 years ago and this gathering was just the latest example of the community coming together to support causes that improve life in the region. “We want the best for everyone in this community,” says Joanne Love, administrative assistant at our Kenora plant. “We want everyone to thrive. We want everyone to do well.” #WY125 #TheWeyerhaeuserWay

As a germplasm development coordinator in our Southern Timberlands, Jaine Allran works with foresters and the rest of our Tree Improvement team to carry out breeding plans for loblolly and slash pine. Most days, especially in the spring and fall, she's working on the trees' schedule. "They don't care if it's a Saturday or a holiday," says Jaine, who started at our nursery in Aiken, South Carolina, but is now based in Sylvania, Georgia. "Sometimes, I need to work straight through, especially during breeding season. ... We only get one shot to do what we need to do for breeding, or else we're behind an entire year." Learn more about Jaine's job at Weyerhaeuser and the traits we look for when breeding trees. #TheWeyerhaeuserWay #meetourpeople https://lnkd.in/eudrmy6Z

Internships at Weyerhaeuser are designed to immerse students in the real-world application of their fields of study. For 2025 intern Gracie Knight, that means spending the summer working with our Forest Carbon team in Brookhaven, Mississippi. Gracie is pursuing a master's degree in forest resources at the University of Georgia and says the opportunity with Weyerhaeuser came at the perfect time in her studies. "It seemed like such a hands-on opportunity to gain experience in the carbon market," Gracie shared. "(Forest carbon) is talked about some in forestry classes and spaces, but since it's so new, there aren't many classes dedicated to it." #TheWeyerhaeuserWay #WYInterns The University of Georgia Mississippi State University

  • Every year, the Edmonton Oilers of the National Hockey League honor an Alberta community that exemplifies one of the most dedicated and passionate fan bases in the world with a day-long Celebrating Oil Country event. Last year, the Oilers selected Drayton Valley, a community we've proudly operated in for decades. So, when the mayor invited a Weyerhaeuser representative to participate in a planning committee for the celebration — which would include Oilers alumni and other dignitaries — local Wood Products and Timberlands leaders eagerly accepted. “Hockey is Canada’s national pastime, akin to football in the United States, so it was a big deal for nearly everyone who lives and works here,” says Kerri MacKay, forestry business systems specialist, who volunteered to plan the day’s events alongside other community representatives. “It was a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to showcase our community and our company. Learn more about the festivities and a day the community won't soon forget. #TheWeyerhaeuserWay https://lnkd.in/e99pb7mz

  • Our Willamette Valley Timberlands team in Oregon recently kicked off the 2025 SFI® Forest Management Standard audit season. Each year, Weyerhaeuser certifies 100% of our forests to SFI standards, ensuring sustainable forest management and transparency throughout the entire process—from initial harvest planning and engineering, through harvesting operations, and ultimately to replanting. We plant over 100 million seedlings annually on our harvested sites—equivalent to about 210 trees per minute. Additionally, nearly 100 scientists, researchers, and technicians across our company are dedicated to studying the forests in our care, focusing on everything from water quality and wildlife habitat to forest health and climate resilience. Together, we're working to ensure the health of our forests for generations!

This summer, as part of our 125th anniversary celebration, we are highlighting local events in some of our operating communities, and last month we were excited to support the 11th annual Black Bear Festival in Plymouth, N.C. We have operated in North Carolina since 1957, and our Plymouth lumber mill is right on the edge of town. Every year, the festival is a wonderful showcase of what makes the Plymouth community such a great place to live and work, from tubing and boat rides on the Roanoke River, to live music, a Run With The Bears 5k, timber sports, kids activities, fireworks and so much more. #WY125 #TheWeyerhaeuserWay
