From Sandisk's early days to its transformation into a global Flash storage leader, Oriana Gal, Engineering Program Manager, reflects on her extraordinary 30-year journey of groundbreaking product launches, worldwide milestones, and focused moments of innovation. "Being able to preserve continuity, contribute to product quality, and mentor younger employees has been deeply rewarding. I like to think I've been a bridge between past and present," she said. Her passion for innovation never waned. "Every day felt like an experiment. As we grew, collaboration became more structured, but that spark of curiosity and problem-solving never left. What I admire most is how, even through major transitions, Sandisk kept the spirit of innovation alive and built a culture where ideas from anyone, anywhere, could make an impact.” As she looks ahead, Oriana's story serves as a reminder that longevity isn't just about time—it's about passion, purpose, and staying true to the spirit that started it all.

Meet Collin Howe, Firmware Engineer and passionate gardener, who believes the key to success is working with nature rather than against it. "The plants want to grow," says Collin. "If you set things up right, your garden actually becomes less work." Through companion planting, crop rotation, and using natural mulch, Collin has created a thriving, low-maintenance ecosystem that not only supports itself but also enriches the soil. What started as an effort to grow sweet potatoes and peaches—favorites in his household—has blossomed into a full-circle approach to sustainable living. “They’re not native here, but with the right soil prep and timing the harvest before the fall freeze, we’ve seen real success.” Now, along with composting, raising chickens, and even beekeeping, Collin’s garden produces near-zero waste while nourishing both his family and the local environment. “There’s nothing more satisfying than eating food you grew yourself.” Keep growing, gathering, and gardening, Collin! 🌱🥔

Henry Chin pushes the limits of NAND flash technology every day. As a device engineer on the Cell Development and Productization team, he works on Sandisk's 3D NAND memory cells, overseeing management on numerous groundbreaking projects, from quantum tunneling to program data, as well as leading a team focused on the development of the latest generation SSD technology. He has received more than 70 patents and currently serves on Sandisk's Invention Review Board for memory device operations.
