This July, our Records Operations Support Services (ROSS) team at the National Records Center (NRC) went above and beyond to support Street Support KC, a nonprofit dedicated to helping individuals and families experiencing homelessness in the Kansas City area. In support of their mission, the team launched a “Christmas in July” donation drive, and the results were incredible! • 120+ backpacks • 420+ clothing items (including new undergarments, shirts, pants, and belts) • 180+ water bottles (plastic and reusable) • Supplies for 150+ hygiene kits • 150+ nonperishable food items • 20 blankets The donation drive lasted four weeks and included a friendly competition between departments, complete with a pizza party prize! The ROSS contract supports the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), US Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS), and operates 24/7 at the NRC in Kansas City, MO, with 300+ team members, including 122 Koniag employees, across 14 departments. Together, they manage more than 19 million records and still find time to give back to their community. Huge thanks to everyone who participated; your efforts helped collect 2,840+ items for a truly meaningful cause. Way to go, ROSS team! #CommunityImpact #ROSSContract #StreetSupportKC #KGSCares

June is Alzheimer's & Brain Awareness Month, a time to shine a light on the millions of people living with Alzheimer's disease and other forms of dementia, and to recognize the caregivers, researchers, and advocates working tirelessly to support them. Alzheimer's affects more than 6 million Americans, and that number continues to grow. This month, we’re reminded of the importance of: • Raising awareness and reducing stigma • Supporting caregivers and families • Advocating for continued research and resources • Making brain-healthy choices in our daily lives Purple is the official color of Alzheimer's & Brain Awareness Month. Whether you're wearing purple to show support, learning more about brain health, or participating in a local fundraiser, there are many meaningful ways to get involved. Let’s work together to create a future with more hope, more understanding, and ultimately, a cure. 💜 Learn more or get involved: www.alz.org
