Flashback Friday 🟩 ⚡ Last Monday, we celebrated our 70th anniversary by ringing the Opening Bell at the New York Stock Exchange. It was a moment to reflect on our evolution and long-standing relationship with the NYSE. H&R Block became a publicly traded company in 1962, just seven years after our founding, with a $300,000 offering of 75,000 shares at $4 per share. On Oct. 13, 1969, we began trading under the ticker symbol HRB on the New York Stock Exchange, recording a first-day price of $53 and a first-day volume of 4,400 shares. Join for a trip down memory lane as we share some archival highlights: 📸 1969: Founding brothers Henry and Richard Bloch on the trading room floor as H&R Block was listed on the Big Board. 📸 December 1991: H&R Block’s Board of Directors toured the Big Board’s Trading Floor. 📸 January 2000: Henry Bloch, joined by Richard Grasso (former NYSE CEO and Chairman), Frank Salizzoni, and CEO Mark Ernst, rang the Opening Bell to launch “The New H&R Block” and the “Rev Up Your Refund” campaign. 📸 January 2005: President and CEO Mark Ernst rang the Closing Bell to kick off the 2005 tax season and celebrate our 50th anniversary. 📸 January 2007: Mark Ernst rang the Closing Bell in honor of National Tax Advice Day and the start of the 2007 tax season. 📸 January 2010: President and CEO Russ Smyth rang the Closing Bell to launch the 2010 tax season. 📸 January 2012: Franchisee Mahadeo Singh rang the Opening Bell to mark the start of the 2012 tax season. 📸 February 2015: Former President and CEO Bill Cobb, alongside our beloved spokesperson and tax pro Richard Gartland, rang the Opening Bell for the start of “Refund Season.” 📸 February 2016: Bill Cobb, senior leadership, and associates celebrated the launch of Block Advisors. 📸 January 2019: Current President and CEO Jeff Jones, senior leaders, associates, and tax pros rang the Opening Bell to kick off tax season and celebrate 50 years on the Big Board. 📸 July 2025: Highlights from this year’s 70th anniversary celebration. Summer vibes and community spirit were in full swing at H&R Block's July Block Party this week! ☀️ From morning coffee chats to afternoon puppy cuddles, the day was a vibrant showcase of our #ConnectedCulture in action as we continue to celebrate our 70th anniversary. 💚 As part of #MakeEveryBlockBetterMonth, associates contributed school supplies, household items, food, and clothing items to a donation drive supporting Operation Breakthrough. Additionally, many associates rolled up their sleeves to participate in a life-saving blood drive. And of course, the day wouldn’t be complete without cupcakes for Henry Bloch’s birthday and a visit from some furry friends with KC Pet Project. ��🧁 As we continue to celebrate our legacy and look toward the future, our Block Party was a reminder of what makes Block special: our people, our culture, and our commitment to connection. #HRBlock #BlockPride #70HRB

Thank you MMA Global for inviting me to kick-off the annual CMO & CEO Summit. While the learnings over the last (nearly) eight years as CEO of H&R Block have been many, I was happy to share a few keys for how CMO’s can remain invaluable to their CEO and to create value for their companies: 💚 The Main Thing is the Main Thing - be careful getting caught up in how to reposition the role of marketing and forget about the main thing! 💚 Solve Hard Problems - the way your “seat at the table” is determined is by solving hard problems and creating value…period. 💚 When You Feel Resistance, Teach - remain open to the idea that hard questions are an opportunity to teach. 💚 Language and communication are key arts of leadership…reputation > brand. 💚 Mirror not a Window - own your results by holding up a mirror when they go poorly and shining the light on others when they go well. 💚 The Customer, Growth, Innovation, Experience…while titles for some people are critical for everyone…marketers can help the organization see the future with clarity but shouldn’t try to “hoard” these areas to themselves. The fourth iteration of our #OpenIT hackathon was a global celebration of curiosity, collaboration, and bold thinking. 🌍 Over 500 associates from the U.S., India, and Ireland came together last week to solve real challenges faced by our clients and teams. Many were first-time hackers, but every team embraced experimentation in the name of innovation and customer centricity. Teams formed organically across Engineering, Product, Experience Design and Marketing—each selecting their own problem statements and bringing them to life through a mix of technology and ingenuity. This year’s event saw 2X growth from last year, with:  🇮🇳 63 teams from H&R Block India 🇺🇸 21 teams from the U.S. and Ireland  👩💻 9 interns and 9 Accelerators (a brand-new cohort of early career software engineers) 🏆Congratulations to our grand champion team, CacheMeIfYouCan comprised of Vin Kamat, Kristy Maldonado, Katie King, Adam Holm, and interns, Alice Mungamuri and Carter Albers. In two 24-hour hacks, this team has opened new efficiencies and insights for H&R Block associates with their AI-powered reporting tool.
