Last month we had some very special guests come to our Network Saturdays youth group - Mercedes-AMG PETRONAS Formula One Team and an amazing magician, Josh from Luland Magic! It was an incredible day; the room was buzzing with chatter and excitement. The children got a special Q&A with the Mercedes F1 team, they got to try on replica gloves, suits and boots and see a replica W16 show car that was parked right outside the hospice. After brunch, everyone was treated to a spectacular show from Josh who had everyone in awe with his card tricks. Thankyou to everyone involved in the day. From our special guests Josh and Mercedes F1 team, to our catering team for the delicious brunch, and our volunteers who made the day extra special with their enthusiasm. 2017 ➡️ 2025 George's first outing in a Mercedes F1 car came on this day (August 1st) at the Hungaroring in 2017, when he got behind the wheel of the W08. Shining Bright in STEM 🌟   To celebrate the end of the first school year in our collaboration with Star Academies, we invited forty aspiring engineers to our Lauda Drive factory to give them a first glimpse of life at a Formula 1 team.   The group - comprised of primary and secondary school children who took part in the Future Engineers Academy - enjoyed a LEGO building challenge and show and tell sessions highlighting driver kit, carbon fibre components, and machine parts from our race cars.   As part of the visit, pupils presented their own work from the past six months to our engineers, including sustainable F1 car designs, kart builds, and team livery concepts.
