Make sales right on your Linktree

Building a store means finding traffic for it. Selling from your Linktree means working with the audience you already have.

Meet them where they are

No need to go somewhere new. Your product sits right on your page, so your followers and checkout are together.

Keep every buyer

Every sale comes with the customer’s name and email, so your next launch doesn’t have to start from zero.

See what actually sells

Track which link, which platform and which post drove each purchase, so you know what to make next.

What is a digital product?

A digital product is a file a customer buys and downloads, rather than something you post to them. Ebooks, templates, presets, printables, guides, sample packs and video courses are all digital products. You make it once and sell it as many times as you like, with no stock to hold and nothing to ship.

It’s free to start listing digital products

You can add a digital product to your Linktree and share it without paying anything. When you sell one, a Linktree transaction fee and a payment processing fee come out automatically before your payout, so there’s nothing for you to calculate or pay separately. Fees depend on your plan, and you can see what selling costs on each plan before you start.

What to look for in a platform to sell digital products

Most platforms will take your file and take a payment. What matters shows up after your first sale, not during setup.

A Linktree profile surrounded by Spotify, TikTok, shop and video links

Whether it reaches the audience you already have

A storefront on its own domain means finding traffic for it. Selling from your link in bio page puts the product where your followers already tap, so the audience and the checkout are the same page.

Contact lists syncing to beehiiv, Klaviyo, Kit and Mailchimp

Who owns the customer relationship afterwards

Some platforms keep the buyer relationship. Check whether you get the customer’s email, whether you can add your own questions, and whether it syncs to the email tool you already use.

Audience table showing each buyer’s country and traffic source

What you can see after the sale

A sales number on its own doesn’t tell you what to do next. You want to know which link, which platform and which post drove the purchase.

Visits and items-sold stat cards beside an instant camera

Both fees, not just the headline one

Compare the platform fee and the payment processing fee together, and check whether the platform fee falls as you grow or stays flat forever.

Step 5: Share your link

Put your Linktree in your Instagram, TikTok, YouTube or Pinterest profile, and every post points at your product.

Sell to your audience wherever you post

Most social platforms don’t let you sell inside a post and limit where you can put a link. Linktree carries your product across all of them, so you can update once instead of changing a link on every profile.

Instagram

Add your Linktree to the links in your Instagram profile, then point your captions, Stories and Reels at it. Story link stickers work on every account. Read the full guide to selling digital products on Instagram.

TikTok

Add your Linktree to the website field in your TikTok profile. Business accounts can add a link straight away, and personal accounts may need 1,000 followers before the field appears. See how to add your Linktree to TikTok.

YouTube

Add your Linktree under Links in YouTube Studio, so one destination serves every video description and your channel banner. See how to use Linktree for YouTubers.

Pinterest

Add your Linktree to the website field on your Pinterest profile, so every pin leads back to your products. See how to add your Linktree to Pinterest.

Sell templates and presets to your followers

Your templates and presets sit on your Linktree as a digital product, and your Instagram profile links straight to it. Followers tap the link, buy from your page, and the files download automatically. Canva and Photoshop templates, Lightroom presets, LUTs and editing packs all upload as ordinary files, so there’s nothing to build first.

Frequently asked questions

How does selling digital products on Linktree work?
Linktree digital products lets you sell downloadable files straight from your Linktree page. You upload your files, write a name and description, and set a price. Payments are processed by Stripe. After payment your customer gets an email receipt with a secure download link, and their name and email land in your audience list. There is no store to build and no website required.
Can I sell digital products without a website?
Yes. You can sell digital products from your Linktree without a website, a store or a separate checkout tool. Upload the file, set a price, and share your Linktree link.
What file types can I sell on Linktree?
Linktree digital products support PDF, DOCX, TXT and ePub for documents and ebooks, JPG, PNG, SVG, WEBP, TIFF, RAW and EPS for images, MP3, WAV, AAC, FLAC and AIFF for audio, MP4 and MOV for video, and PSD, AI and InDesign for design files. You can add up to 24 files to one product, with a 100MB limit per file and 1GB in total.
How does my customer get the file after they pay?
Your customer gets the file automatically. Linktree emails them a receipt with a download link as soon as payment clears, and they can come back to their purchase at any time using a one time code. If they need help, they can contact you from the download page using the support email you set.
How much can I charge for a digital product?
You can charge anything from $1 to $10,000 USD for a digital product on Linktree, or the local equivalent in the currency of your Stripe account. You set the price yourself when you create the product, so you can start small with a short guide and price a bigger bundle higher.
What does it cost to sell digital products on Linktree?
Listing a digital product on Linktree is free. When you make a sale, a Linktree transaction fee and a payment processing fee apply, and how much depends on your plan. Both come out automatically before your payout. Current rates for every plan are on the pricing page.
Which countries can sell paid digital products?
Paid digital products are available in 35 countries, including the United States, United Kingdom, Australia, Canada, New Zealand, Singapore, Japan and most of the EU. If your country is not on the list yet, you can still offer free digital downloads anywhere in the world and use them to grow your email list.
Can I give a digital product away for free?
You can give a digital product away for free from your Linktree, and you still collect the customer's name and email. Free products are a straightforward way to grow a mailing list you own, and you can switch a free product to a paid one later.
How do I sell digital products on Instagram?
You can sell digital products on Instagram by adding your Linktree to your profile links, then pointing your captions, Stories and Reels at it. Story link stickers work on every account regardless of follower count.
What digital products can I sell as a beginner?
The easiest digital products to start with are ones you have already made. A guide you have written, a template you use in your own work, a checklist, or a preset pack. It does not need to be long. A short, specific product that solves one problem is easier to sell than a large one.
Is selling digital products from a link in bio page worth it?
Selling digital products from a link in bio page works best when you already have an audience, even a small one, because the product sits where your followers already tap and there is no separate store to drive traffic to. If you are starting from very few followers, building the audience comes first. Linktree is free to start, so your product can be live while you are still growing.
Who handles refunds and disputes?
You do. When you sell a digital product through your Linktree you are the seller of record, so refunds and disputes are handled by you through your Stripe dashboard, and you are responsible for tax in your own region.
Do I need a business to sell digital products?
Requirements for selling digital products vary by country and by how much you earn, and Linktree cannot give you tax or legal advice. You will need a Stripe account to take payments, and Stripe will tell you what details it needs when you set it up.
Can I sell an online course instead?
You can sell an online course with Linktree Courses, which is a separate feature for multi lesson content. Linktree digital products are for files your customer downloads once.
Is there anything I cannot sell?
Adult content cannot be sold or distributed through Linktree digital products, and a profile that links to adult domains or promotes sexual products is not eligible for Earn features. This is a restriction from our payment processor as well as our own guidelines.
