Consider this: the average time spent on Instagram is 29 minutes per day but the average engagement rate* for a photo post is 1.74%. According to a 2021 Digital Global Overview report, engagement on posts from business accounts is even lower at .85%. Getting someone to stop and interact with your post is not an easy feat, which makes someone clicking through to your profile that much more rare.

We believe your profile (your Linktree) should put your best face forward—literally. After all, it's how you package yourself to the world, gain an audience, and build your brand. While Linktree already has tons of customizable backgrounds, we decided to pair up with Canva, a renowned online design tool, to offer even more—plus the option to design your profile image.

With this new feature, all Linktree users can use Canva to stylize their profile images with designs that function as a border to your avatar. Linktree PRO subscribers also get access to 20 different background designs created by Canva artists. Profile and background designs can be further customized, too, using Canva's array of digital art tools. Ready to get started?

How to design your profile image:

• Log into your Linktree admin
• Select the 'Appearance' button at the top of the admin page
• Choose "pick an image" next to your profile picture
• Select "Design with Canva" and log into your account (it's free to sign up)
• Choose from 10 designed templates
• Drag your profile image into the template and publish
• Optional: Revise the template as desired using the color, text, shape, and numerous tools available in Canva

How to design your background:

• Log into your Linktree admin
• Select the 'Appearance' button at the top of the admin page
• Scroll down to ‘Background’ and click on the 'Image' option
• Select "Design with Canva" (you may need to create a free account if you don't already have one)
• Choose from 20 background designs and publish
• Optional: Revise the template as desired using the color, text, shape, and numerous tools available in Canva

Like all Linktree features, nothing is permanent, so play around with the designs and colors until it feels just right for you. To make your profile image memorable, try using contrasting colors to make your image pop. If your brand has a distinct aesthetic, choose a design and colors that make it easily recognizable. Use your Linktree to explain your brand visually, market yourself, and stand out.
