You can also explore Harvard's educational offerings and familiarize yourself with the unique perks and rewards that come with being part of a world-class institution.

We are confident that these early experiences will help you become an integral part of our community. We look forward to seeing how you will contribute to the exciting and important work we do here.

Getting Started

The University’s New Employee Welcome & Orientation program is your first step, along with local orientations and meeting with your local human resources (HR) department and manager. After receiving confirmation of your new position, you can sign up for an upcoming online Orientation session on or after your start date; please check with your manager or local HR office to coordinate time to attend the session to avoid any conflicts.

Before you get here:

  • Register for a New Employee Welcome & Orientation session on or after the start date listed in your job offer letter.
  • Watch the Harvard Benefits Highlight videos to learn about your benefits options.

First day logistics:

  • Consult with your new manager and/or local HR office to see what paperwork you will need to bring on your first day, where you need to go, and help with any transportation questions.

New Employee Welcome & Orientation Program

The New Employee Welcome & Orientation program is designed to help you get started and feel comfortable as you begin your journey here.

This session is open to all new employees and provides an overview of your benefits along with the University’s structure and culture. It’s a great opportunity to familiarize yourself with the resources and perks available to you and to ask any questions you may have about HR, benefits, and more.

To get the most out of this session, we encourage you to watch the Harvard Benefits Highlight videos before attending. Please note, this is a University-wide orientation program, and there may be additional orientation sessions specific to your school or department.
