[Design Issue] Menu navbar should use consistent style classes with Top navbar #12579

Open

Description

@loganmzz

Have you read the Contributing Guidelines on issues?

Description

When using HTML items, it is hard to properly style elements as it relies on different CSS class set when navbar is included as Top bar or inside Menu.

For example:

  • Top:
    • navbar__item
    • navbar__link
  • Menu:
    • menu__list-item
    • menu__link

User may have just add both but CSS rules aren't properly scope and might activate in wrong case.

Has this been requested on Canny?

No response

Motivation

Being able to properly style when using HTML item.

Have you tried building it?

    @TensorDevLJ

    Hi! I’d like to work on this issue. I’ve looked through the description and would be happy to investigate the navbar/menu class inconsistency and submit a PR.
    Would it be okay for me to take this up?
