Images deleted from "People" are not been deleted #32858

The bug
Hi
When trying to delete Image of an Unknown person from People section on Android device I discovered deleting image doesn't work.
immich doesn't move the images to device trash like it does in Albums
you also can't do Delete from Device as this option is also not available People section on Android
why its a problem?
when u delete the image from People Section on Android it moves the image to trash in immich but not device trash means immich will now show the image and add the image to backup queue and back it up again
the behaviour I want:
deleting the image from People section should move the images to immich as well ass device trash. I don't want the image/video to back it up again if deleted from People section
the workaround:
Instead of deleting I did archive the image, then go to archive and delete the image which correctly moves the image to immich trash and device trash

It's not really clear what's happening now. Are there any errors in the logs? Are you able to share a screen recording?
skj-skj commentedon Nov 1, 2026
@bo0tzz I have updated the desc.
the issue is in Immich Android App, and there is no error logs.
the issue is not just in my device, I checked with few more android device and its the same.

I think this boils down to being a duplicate of #22015
