I'm Ilyas, a Senior Software Engineer from Bremen. Most of my time goes into iOS apps with Swift and SwiftUI, with distributed backends, DevOps and lately agentic AI engineering on the side. For a few years I've also been organising CocoaHeads Bremen, a meetup for everyone who builds for Apple platforms.
In my spare time I build open source apps for the self-hosted tools I run at home:
- RomM for iOS, play your self-hosted RomM retro library on iPhone and iPad, saves synced with your server
- Readeck for iOS, a native client for the Readeck read-it-later service, out on the App Store
- Readeck for Safari, save pages to Readeck straight from Safari
You can find more about me and my projects on my website, where I also blog now and then. If you want to get in touch, find me on LinkedIn, drop by the RomM app channel on Discord or email me at hi@ilyashallak.de.
