CloudFlare R2 bucket total downloads

Hi!

I would love a badge to show off the number of CloudFlare R2 downloads when users download files from my buckets.

Engineers unfortunately have to choose between CDN's like R2 exclusive-or badges.

It seems we don't have a badge implementing the CloudFlare API yet.

Going briefly over the API here are some things to consider

The current rate limit) is about 300 requests / 5 min. We may need to reach out for higher limits or cache for longer if the badge gets popular.
Authentication seems to be required, we may need to open an account.
Can a user we open query other user's analytics?
If the answer to 3 is no, can a user safely share an API token publicly, will that expose more info, can it be scoped?

If anyone have some experience with the API or could figure some of it out, please share the info with us.
