Wikipedia:Miscellany for deletion
| Skip to: Table of contents / current discussions / old business (bottom). |
Please do not nominate your user page (or subpages of it) for deletion here. Instead, add {{db-userreq}} at the top of any such page you no longer wish to keep; an administrator will then delete the page for you. See Wikipedia:Speedy deletion § U1 for more information. |
Miscellany for deletion (MfD) is a place where Wikipedians decide what should be done with problematic pages in the namespaces which aren't covered by other specialized deletion discussion areas. Items sent here are usually discussed for seven days; then they are either deleted by an administrator or kept, based on community consensus as evident from the discussion, consistent with policy, and with careful judgment of the rough consensus if required.
Filtered versions of the page are available at

- Pages not covered by other XFD venues, including pages in these namespaces: Draft:, Help:, Portal:, MediaWiki:, Wikipedia: (including WikiProjects), User:, TimedText:, MOS:,[a] Event: and the various Talk: namespaces
- Userboxes, regardless of the namespace
- File description pages when the file itself is hosted on Commons
- Any other page, that is not in article space, where there is dispute as to the correct XFD venue.
Requests to undelete pages deleted after discussion here, and debate whether discussions here have been properly closed, both take place at Wikipedia:Deletion review, in accordance with Wikipedia's undeletion policy.

[edit]This is a person's creative writing project. ―Susmuffin Talk 08:54, 1 July 2026 (UTC)
- Tentative delete, per WP:NOTWEBHOST. That said, this is the only contribution of a new user who arrived only yesterday. We extend considerable latitude and in fact encourage the use of one's user sandbox to learn basic editing skills, and it's OK if that includes flights of fancy rather than placeholder text. This is one screenful, so I hardly think the "excessive" part in Wikipedia:User_pages#Excessive_unrelated_content applies as stated in the nom. My !vote would switch to keep if the user comes back and anywhere at all (here, on the sandbox itself) gives some indication that they're learning editing by playing around and intend to genuinely participate, rather than just seeking somewhere to store their creative writing. Martinp (talk) 11:27, 1 July 2026 (UTC)
- Neutral, lean weak delete. I mostly agree with Martinp. I would not say this is excessively unrelated, but per WP:NOTWEBHOST, Wikipedia is not a place to write about fictional history. However, creator is a new user. If author makes genuine contributions that show they are WP:HERE, I’d lean keep. TruenoCity (talk) 20:32, 1 July 2026 (UTC)

[edit]this is clearly random shit typed on a Friday night, and Wikipedia is also not a place for new random ideas. Tankishguy 01:23, 27 June 2026 (UTC)
- Weak delete WP:NOTWEBHOST. Userpages are pretty low standard, however, if this was in draftspace, I would lean stronger delete as it is definitely LLM generated and/or
original research.TruenoCity (talk) 17:47, 27 June 2026 (UTC)- Being original research should not be a reason a draft or userpage should be deleted, however, being likely written by AI is. TruenoCity (talk) 16:48, 28 June 2026 (UTC)
- Weak Delete - I disagree with Tankishguy's inference that this was random shit typed on a Friday night, because I agree with TruenoCity that it appears to be LLM-generated. I disagree with TruenoCity about user and draft space because it would be a useless draft in self-clearing draft space. We should be tolerant of crud in both user pages and draft pages, except that crud that is written by artificial intelligence should be deleted. Robert McClenon (talk) 16:44, 28 June 2026 (UTC)
- Weak delete for different reasons. It's nonsense that is placed at the root userpage, which is intended to carry information about the user, not random nonsense. If it seemed useful to writing the encyclopedia, the reasonable thing to do would be to move it to a user subpage, AGF that it was just put by the new user in the wrong place. But it is encyclopedically useless, so just deleting it is fine. That said, I don't agree with either rationale above. Were this a user subpage or in draft space, I would vote keep per WP:LUDA (and a corresponding reluctance to police the depths of userspace). And I would not try to assess to what extent it might be LLM generated or assisted if it doesn't meet WP:G15. While we don't want LLM-written articles or user communications, I'm reluctant to delete "jot notes" based on presumed LLM vibe, which is notoriously unreliable, and I think it is a waste of time to try to assess LLM with nuance on someone's private rough notes (even though "rough notes" is a stretch on this one). Martinp (talk) 09:35, 29 June 2026 (UTC)
- Delete. Not a good faith draft. SmokeyJoe (talk) 11:32, 29 June 2026 (UTC)
