  4. Letters: Separatists waste Alberta taxpayer money

    FORM A PARTY, SEPARATISTS I have never been a UCP supporter, and quite likely never will be. Yet when they are elected, I resign myself to the fact that they are in power, and patiently wait for the next election. However the separatist types rise up between elections, and demand a referendum a year before an election is due. And should they be soundly defeated in this upcoming referendum, they vow to continue the fight. Why should we taxpayers be on the hook for this nonsense? If they haven’t already done so, these separatists should form their own political party (like the Parti Quebecois), and present their platform to the province at the next provincial election. Either way, voters will decide the outcome.

  6. Letters: Edmonton needs to act on homelessness — now

    Taking the Valley Line LRT from Mill Woods to Downtown on Saturday was eye-opening. Woodvale and Davies stations were littered with aggressive and violent drug users, with zero peace officer presence. I don’t know what the solution is, but I don’t want to hear city council talk about any other issue in this city, I don’t care about infill, traffic enforcement, park improvements. Nothing else. City council’s ONLY priority should be solving the homeless problem until it’s fixed.
