The University Library provides a comprehensive range of services to support academic staff, and works closely with each faculty to ensure that faculty-specific requirements are factored into Library service delivery and development.

We believe that strong engagement and collaboration between faculties and the Library is essential to ensure continued effective support for teaching, learning and research.

Support for your students

Reading Lists

The Library works in partnership with you to ensure that students can discover and access their directed reading in print or online at the point of need. The service can also digitise and copyright clear selected chapters from books or journals.

The University Library’s reading list team provides faculty colleagues with bespoke support to enable them to create their lists, ranging from one-to-one support, group sessions and remote assistance via Microsoft Teams.

Our collections

The Library works in partnership with you to ensure that the Library collection meets the needs of students and faculty across all disciplines. More information on how we work with you to achieve this is available on the Developing our collection page.

Learning skills support

The Library works in partnership with you to develop and deliver the skills students need to succeed at University and beyond, from pre-entry to doctoral support, including; searching for information, critical analysis, academic writing and referencing. Support for your research

The Library provides support for your research from providing dedicated research spaces and research skills training sessions to support for your research outputs. More information on support for your research is available on the Support for your research page.

Support for the Faculty

The Learning Partnerships team supports the quality processes of the University. We work in partnership with each faculty, supporting your faculty meetings, periodic reviews and accreditations.  We also offer tours of the University Libraries for visiting partners, other visitors and new academic staff.  More information is available in the Supporting the faculty page.

Guide for personal tutors

The Library has developed a guide for Personal Guidance Tutors which aims to support members of academic staff to signpost students to the support available from the Library.
