If you believe an unchecked Trump is an existential threat to our democracy, as Democrats do, then it's vital to defeat Republican Senators who are a rubber stamp for him. That's why the patriotic thing is for @julianforsd to step aside in this race, and we should all support him in his future endeavors. He would be a hero.
In Europe, liberal and left MP's have stood down in individual races to form the best chance to defeat the far right - and it has worked. We should care about democracy as much.
