Bord Gáis Energy, which is owned by UK group Centrica, has reported EBITDA of €50m for the first half of 2026, up marginally from the €49m reported the same time last year.
Bord Gáis Energy described its performance as "solid" and said it reflecting disciplined delivery across its retail, optimisation and infrastructure portfolio in challenging market conditions.
The company said it continues to invest at scale and play a key role in supporting Ireland's energy system, fostering a more secure, resilient and lower-carbon future to meet the country's growing energy needs.
Bord Gáis Energy now has about 1GW of energy generation in operation and development, with key flexible generation assets in Athlone and Dublin progressing towards commissioning later this year.
A third protect in East Galway is also in planning.
A new Centrica Power Global Control Centre was opened in Athlone in March which oversees assets across Europe including the UK, Belgium and Sweden, including flexible thermal power generation, battery energy storage and solar.
After the purchase of solar company Swyft Energy, Bord Gáis Energy said it delivered about 1,000 solar panel installations, up 21% year on year, taking advantage of the huge demand for solar.
