These contact lenses give people infrared vision — even with their eyes shut
Ever thought about having super-human vision? Researchers in China have developed a way to make contact lenses that convert infrared wavelengths into visible light. It’s based on nanoparticles embedded in the lenses that let participants see infrared LED lights and invisible messages. There’s no amplification of the signal, so unlike with night-vision goggles it only works for pretty bright light sources – but it can work even with your eyes closed!
