In continued celebration of Earth Month, our Meatpacking store held the fourth installment in this series, Circularity, Considered, a conversation focused on circularity through the use of sustainable materials, upcycling, closed-loop production, and product life extension. Our panelists included the founder of The Circularity Project, Indré Rockefeller, Marco Mantellassi, CEO of Manteco, Natalie Chanin, founder and creative director of Alabama Chanin and Project Threadways, and moderator Wendy Waugh. We launched Good Talks last April to bring together emerging and established designers, industry guests, press and more to have thoughtful, open dialogue with experts on the important of sustainability principles. We make 100 billion items a year, but if we keep making more and more clothes and we still only have 8.2 billion people and we're not changing all the people, you could just imagine how much we're producing. In order to be circular, you have to reconvert the wastage into. New material batte. I believe this. Material has to be beautiful, has to be better than what you found before. We need partnerships with designers and big picture thinkers who can solve some of these problems with us. Like everyone has said, it has to be a collaborative system. Can we share knowledge? Can we share materials? And that's the big question for us.
