Since Android 16, the Google Play service updates no longer work on my 8 Pro, the update stops at 36%. Result: Android is as of July 2025, while Play services are as of May 2025. I'm not the only user with this problem. There are numerous complaints about this in Google Play Help; there are numerous reports on the Internet, including in Google forums, that there are problems with updating the Play services. Thousands of users from Pixel 6 onwards must be affected if you look at the forum posts on Google, Reddit etc. Google has been doing ... nothing! Clearing the cache, soft reset, safe mode etc. did nothing. Factory reset is also often said not to help. Since more than a week there is an error message when the apps are to be updated in the Play Store. There are now 50 that no longer work! Inclusive bankingapp! This is probably due to the outdated version of the Play services. This is becoming a security risk! Software errors can happen. The fact that Google can't manage to fix this within approx. 2 months and also leaves the thousands of users completely in the lurch by not making any statements about this is a bottomless insolence! After 4 Pixel devices, I can only say: never again a Pixel! Google
