If you're like me and spend a lot of time in the car, having a truly helpful assistant by your side can be a game changer.
Right from the start, we've prioritized hands-free voice controls on Android Auto and cars with Google built-in so that you can stay connected and keep your eyes on the road. Soon, Gemini will take that experience to the next level, helping you get things done in ways you might not have even imagined.
I experienced this first hand with Dieter Bohn in the Genesis GV60 at #GoogleIO. Can’t wait for you to try it!
OK, this is an update I'm really excited about. Yeah, Jonah and cars. It's actually, I think, a really big deal. Yeah. You know, so many people, including myself, spend a lot of time on the road. And so having a hands free assistant where you can keep your eyes focused but can still understand everything you're saying, it's pretty cool. Let's see how it works. OK, One of the cool things about Gemini in the car is it can connect to apps you use every day. So for example, Hey, I'm on my way to the soccer game and I was wondering, are we playing on Field 5 or Field 13 today? Can you check my Gmail? The soccer game today is at field five. Wow, perfect. That is incredible. You just kind of asked a question like you would naturally instead of having to remember some, like, really specific command. Yeah. I feel like the last generation of assistance really taught us how to talk to them. But now with the jumps and leaps and AI, we can just converse pretty naturally with all our umms and Ahs and other things like that. One of the things I'm really excited about is actually Gemini live in the car so I can be like, hey, Google, let's talk. I'm planning a trip to Lake Tahoe. Can you tell me any family friendly things I could do out there for a family trip? You've got tons of options. There are beaches where you can relax by the water. Yeah, I'm not much of A water person. What about mountain biking? If you're into mountain biking, Tahoes got some awesome trails. One of the things you might have noticed there is, you know, I was able to interrupt it, change the subject or whatever. And so you just like, have a conversation with a really smart AI assistant while you're driving and learn a bunch of stuff or prep for something. For example. Jim and I, what if I was doing a demo with a super important executive at work? How would I go about making that a success? Okay, demos for execs are definitely high stakes. First, make sure you know exactly what they want to see. What do you think? I think you nailed it. Deter.
Dieter nailed it! 👌
