- Rule number one in finding speaking gigs: people can't book you to speak if they don't know you're a speaker. Would you walk up to someone and ask them to do a clown performance at your kid's birthday party if you weren't 100% sure they were a part-time clown? I sure hope not. That clown has to make it known that it's a clown and open for business. So we have to do the same thing as speakers, and LinkedIn is a great place to start. Let's take a look at my LinkedIn profile. The first thing you see is my header photo, with a picture of me speaking on stage. If you don't have any speaking photos yet, don't worry, you can still put Speaker in your headline.
