Material and lighting foundations

- [Instructor] Greetings, and welcome to Unity-certified Associate Materials and Lighting. In this course, we'll explore the fundamentals of lighting, rendering, and post-processing inside Unity for creating games, simulations and other interactive content. My name is Alan Thorn, and I'll be your instructor as we move and explore Unity's amazing feature set. We'll see how to create materials, how to work with Unity's three major render pipelines, how to import and configure textures like normal maps, how to work with lights and shadows, and how to create post-processing effects to enhance the visual appeal of your scenes. This course also explores key concepts in lighting and optimization, such as global illumination, and how both light mapping and light probes can help you get amazing results. By the end of this course, you'll have established a solid foundation for creating interesting lighting and material setups inside Unity. So let's get started.
