Reimagining real estate to make it easier than ever to move from one home to the next.
About us
Join our mission to give the people power to unlock life’s next chapter. We’re looking for smart, passionate people to join our largely distributed workforce as we reimagine the real estate transaction and change the way people buy, sell, rent and finance their homes. Our homes are the heartbeat of our lives, and we believe that finding a home shouldn’t be so hard in today’s always-on world. That’s why we’re reimagining the traditional rules of real estate to make it easier than ever to move from one home to the next. Our journey began nearly 15 years ago with a handful of employees and one big idea: to make it radically easier for people to move. We began by helping people understand and track their homes’ values with the Zestimate, our proprietary algorithm, and then with advanced technology and valuable connections with real estate professionals. Today, Zillow has become a household name; “Zillow” is Googled more frequently than “real estate.” We believe that the time for a seamless and convenient real estate experience is now. This is Zillow’s next chapter.

What happens when more than 1,700 employees hit pause on their day jobs to dream up the future? Hack Week. Zillow’s annual innovation sprint. It’s a chance for employees across teams and time zones to design, build and test bold new ideas that help movers, agents and each other. And it’s just as much about building connections and culture as it is about moving ideas forward. Big thanks to everyone who made this year’s Hack Week possible. 👉 See how ideas come to life at Zillow: https://zlw.re/3IPUGP1

🏆 StreetEasy wins the 2025 Inman Innovator Award for Most Innovative Marketing or Branding Campaign! “Never Become a Former New Yorker” wasn’t just a campaign. It was a rallying cry for anyone who’s ever wrestled with the idea of leaving NYC. We tapped into something real: the emotional ties New Yorkers have to their city, and the realization that homeownership doesn’t have to mean giving that up. Thank you to Inman for honoring this campaign, the incredible team Mother who partnered with StreetEasy to bring it to life, and the New Yorkers (and former New Yorkers) who made it resonate. 🔗 https://zlw.re/3H3pFqf

What if your team became the one everyone wanted to join? With 13% of active agents switching brokerages last year, the competition for top talent is fierce—and your strategy has never mattered more. At Inman Connect San Diego, Roz Harris gave a glimpse into how top-performing teams are built: ✅ Hiring with intention ✅ Using AI to supercharge recruitment ✅ Creating a culture that makes people stay 💥 But that was just the preview. At Zillow Unlock, Roz is going deeper — into the systems, playbooks, and leadership moves that help brokerages stand out, scale smart, and build teams agents don’t want to leave. 🔑 Want to future-proof your team? This is worth a read for anyone curious about where Zillow is headed and why people love scrolling, even in a frozen market. Our CEO Jeremy Wacksman breaks it down in his The New York Times "Corner Office" interview — from Zillow Surfing, Zillow’s super app, and an early love for computers that led him to real estate tech. 🚨The End of the Housing Frenzy is Upon Us. What Are You Seeing in Your Market? 👇🏾 The data is shocking: 26.6% of home listings cut prices in June—the highest on record! 📊 💥 The pandemic boomtown reckoning is here 🏠 Former COVID darlings like Raleigh (36.4% price cuts), Nashville (35.5%), and Phoenix (35.5%) now lead the nation in price reductions. Zillow data shows where potential home buyers can find the most price cuts: https://lnkd.in/ge4XiuHX 💥 What's happening? 🤔 • Inventory grew as demand softened 📈 • Buyers finally have negotiating power 💪 • Sellers competing with each other. Pricing and marketing a home well becomes even more important (imagine that!) 🔄 While affordability keeps many buyers sidelined in some markets, others are seeing workforce slowdowns—shrinking the pool of potential homebuyers who drive local demand. 👥📉 The plot twist: While Denver and Dallas see massive cuts, markets like NYC (15.6%) or San Jose (22.1%) stay tight due to supply constraints. 🌆 Bottom line: After years of bidding wars and heartbreak for buyers, markets are returning to a more normal pace. The gap between buyers and sellers is shrinking. This is a healthy rebalancing. 📈📉 These downward price adjustments raise the likelihood of a modest improvement in home sales from decades low. 🧠💡 #housing

Partnering with Marvel Entertainment to help launch the new Fantastic Four movie has been such a delight. The creative and collaborative energy both teams have brought to the partnership has been inspiring. We've activated the partnership in so many ways (with more to come!), but placing a retro ad for the Baxter Building in the NYTimes always felt like the creative center of the partnership. It was so exciting to see it in the wild on Sunday. Shout out to Becky Brown Jennifer Contreras Enrique Mosqueda Michael Chen and so many others!
