About us

Established in 1858, the YMCA of Metropolitan Chicago was created as a place where community members could find growth and support. Today, 165 years later, the YMCA of Metro Chicago has 14 centers, five camps, and nearly 100 extension sites, making the Y one of the largest social enterprises in Chicago. More than half a million individuals rely on the Y each year for social guidance and individual empowerment. The Y has remained at the heart and soul of personal development in Chicagoland and the Midwest and intends to do so for generations to come.

Excited to finally share a project I’ve been working on behind the scenes at the YMCA of Metropolitan Chicago! Over the past few months, I’ve been helping bring our new pilot program, Adult’s Sports of All Sorts, to life. From drafting the messaging and playful storylines to creating a multi-channel marketing plan and implementing the fun “let’s play” graphics (designed by our amazing Creative Director Meghan Lee), it’s been a full team effort alongside our Sports and Impact & Insights teams. This program is all about giving adults a chance to move, laugh, and connect—without the pressure of a traditional league. We’re starting with Sage YMCA and Foglia YMCA this fall, with hopes to expand to even more communities soon! Seeing an idea like this go from concept to creative to launch is always my favorite part of working in marketing. Can’t wait to watch this one grow! Check it out here: https://lnkd.in/g4bf5h_k

  • Such an amazing day for the community! A huge thanks to everyone who came out and supported 👏👏👏

We were proud to support wellness on the West Side. At the Rush Walk for Wellness on July 12, we joined partners to share updates on the Sankofa Village Wellness Center—a community-led space for healing, care, and connection in West Garfield Park. Led by Garfield Park Rite to Wellness Collaborative, Erie Family Health Centers, Rush University Medical Center, and the YMCA of Metropolitan Chicago, the Center will provide primary care, dental, and behavioral health services. It's part of a broader vision to expand access to wellness, arts, entrepreneurship, and fresh food in the neighborhood. Stay connected and learn more at sankofawellnessvillage.org! #CommunityHealth #WestGarfieldPark #RushWalkForWellness
