Observed annually on August 1st, #WorldLungCancerDay is a day dedicated to raising awareness of lung cancer symptoms and to highlight the need for increased research funding. Globally, lung cancer is the leading cause of cancer-related deaths among all types of cancers, affecting a staggering number of lives. That’s why today is critical to educate our communities about prevention techniques and the importance of getting regular screenings for early detection. Let’s continue raising #LungCancerAwareness and advocating for increased clinical research efforts to help develop more effective treatments for patients.

Tomorrow, July 23, 2025, the revised International Council for Harmonisation (ICH) Good Clinical Practice (GCP) E6R3 will go into effect in the EU region. 🌍 At a recent Avoca, A WCG Company panel, participants discussed how E6R3 will affect supplier qualification processes in the #ClinicalResearch industry, including changes and challenges. Fatemeh Jami, PhD, FRQA from Worldwide highlighted how E6R3 is a natural progression of the risk-based approach established by prior revisions (E6R2). Her other takeaways from the discussion were: 👉 Organizations should focus on understanding what adequate supplier qualification entails and be proactive and transparent throughout the process. 👉 Documentation will be crucial to demonstrate due diligence, including qualification reports, audit reports, and vendor-completed questionnaires.
