Transforming psychiatry with accessible, human, and responsible care
About us
Talkiatry is a national mental health practice that provides in-network psychiatry and therapy. We were co-founded by a patient and a triple-board-certified psychiatrist to solve the problems both groups face in accessing and providing the highest quality mental healthcare. 60% of adults in the U.S. with a diagnosable mental illness go untreated every year because care is inaccessible, while 45% of clinicians are out of network with insurers because reimbursement rates are low and paperwork is unduly burdensome. With innovative technology and a human-centered philosophy, we provide patients with the care they need—and allow psychiatrists to focus on why they got into medicine. We’re proud to be a Great Place to Work®-certified company. Want to transform psychiatry with us?

At Talkiatry, we believe our clinicians' time is best spent on what truly matters - providing high-quality, meaningful mental healthcare. That’s why we offer a dedicated support team that tackles the administrative workload. Our Patient Care Coordinator team handles tasks like scheduling, billing, and record management, so clinicians can spend less time on paperwork and logistics, and more time connecting with their patients. Here’s what a few of our clinicians had to say about the impact of this support.

Self-care is not a luxury. It serves as a foundation for mental wellness. At Talkiatry, we believe that prioritizing self-care is an essential part of managing your mental health. National Self-Care Day reminds us that taking care of ourselves, in whatever way we can, is a powerful step toward healing, stability, and joy. Many of our clinicians support patients in building sustainable self-care routines, from managing anxiety and depression to navigating burnout. And internally, we're continually creating systems that support our teams in doing the same.

Meet Brittney Colf, LMHC! Staff Licensed Mental Health Counselor Home city/state: Canandaigua, NY Markets served: NY and PA Conditions treated: Talk Therapy What is your favorite part about being a therapist? The privilege of taking a journey with someone through their own unique path—seeing clients learn and grow, and experiencing my own growth alongside them. The excitement that can come during breakthrough moments, and the safe space that can be created for the hard times. What is your proudest professional accomplishment? Being trained in EMDR therapy and witnessing the amazing results that come from it has been incredibly rewarding. Watching people get their lives back as they heal from significant complex trauma—sometimes even reaching a place of peace and healing they've never experienced before—is truly powerful. What is your favorite hobby? I live on a cattle farm and have horses, and spending time riding and caring for my animals brings me so much joy. I also grew up as an avid swimmer, so whenever summer rolls around, I jump at any chance to swim in the local lake! Tell us a fun fact about yourself. I had the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to compete in the 2012 U.S. Olympic Trials for swimming. I competed in four events alongside some of the fastest swimmers in the world. It was an incredible and humbling experience that I’ll never forget. View Profile: https://lnkd.in/ep5zUrxE

Disability Pride Month is a powerful reminder that accessibility is a baseline. Disability is a part of the human experience. It is something to understand and support. Many of our clinicians specialize in caring for patients who identify as having a disability, and we're continuously building systems that meet people where they are.

In the wake of the devastating floods impacting Central Texas, our hearts are with every individual, family, and community facing displacement, disruption, and loss. Natural disasters threaten physical safety and take a toll on mental health. For many, events like these can trigger heightened anxiety, depression, trauma responses, or grief. The impact is especially acute for those already navigating behavioral health challenges.
