Love your crew + love what you do! Stand For Something Good.

About us

Shake Shack sprouted from a hot dog cart in Madison Square Park (NYC) to support the Madison Square Park Conservancy’s first art installation. The cart was quite the success, with Shack fans lined up daily for three summers. In 2004, a permanent kiosk opened in the park: Shake Shack was born. This modern day “roadside” burger stand serves up the most delicious burgers, hot dogs, frozen custard, shakes, beer, wine and more. An instant neighborhood fixture, we welcomed people from all over the city, country and world who gathered together to enjoy fresh, simple, high-quality versions of the classics. The rest, as they say, is burger history. And since day one, it would not have been possible without our stellar team! As a member of the #ShackFam, you can expect an exciting work atmosphere with a culture focused on family, fun and community. We’re committed to providing equal opportunities for success, removing obstacles and fostering a culture of diversity, inclusion and empowerment to ensure that Shake Shack continues to be a great place to work. That’s why we’re so proud to have earned 100% on Human Right Campaign’s 2025 Corporate Equality Index for LGBTQ-inclusive workplace policies and practices, a designation that highlights the core of our ethos here at Shake Shack. • Last week, we had the incredible opportunity to host a fireside chat with Chip Wade, CEO of Union Square Hospitality Group. He brought wisdom, inspiration, and a whole lot of heart as he shared his career journey, leadership insights, and a few great laughs along the way.   Big thanks to our ERG, ABLED (Advancement of Black Leaders and Enhanced Development), for creating such a powerful space for connection, learning, and growth.

  • We’re proud to serve Crinkle Cut Fries made from 100% North American-grown potatoes, thanks to one of our Crinkle Cut partners, McCain Foods.    Although our McCain spuds are proudly North American-grown, they’re working with their farmers to change how they grow their potato crop, globally. Through their Farms of the Future program, McCain is advancing regenerative agriculture - an approach to farming with practices that aim to improve soil health, increase crop yield, and help protect our planet, from the ground up. They have committed to implementing regenerative agriculture practices across 100% of the acreage used to grow their potatoes by 2030.   Check out our supply chain team’s most recent visit to one of their regenerative farms in Florenceville, NB!    #Sustainability

  • Our hearts are with the Central Texas and North Carolina communities impacted by the devastating floods. We’re proud of Shack teams across both states for coming together to offer support however we can. From today through Sunday, July 13, we’re donating $1 from every order at all company-owned Shacks in Texas to World Central Kitchen's Climate Disaster Fund, supporting meal distribution and emergency resources for affected families and first responders. Simultaneously, we’re donating $1 from every order at all company-owned Shacks in North Carolina to Inter-Faith Food Shuttle to help feed families and first responders. Our minimum donation of $100,000, will ensure immediate support for the heroic efforts to provide meals and resources to those in need.
