About us
We believe that when access to quality mental healthcare improves, patients, providers, and payers all benefit. And that’s why we’re on a mission to make mental healthcare work for everyone. We remove barriers and strengthen connection points between patients, providers, and payers to improve mental health outcomes. With Rula, it’s easy for patients to find a high-quality therapist or psychiatric practitioner who meets their unique needs, accepts insurance, and is taking new patients. For providers, Rula offers the flexibility of private practice, while also filling caseloads and offering the necessary behind-the-scenes support. Rula handles the marketing, credentialing, billing, and admin tasks so providers can focus on what they do best: providing care to those in need. Rula is a remote-first company with teams who specialize in the areas of Clinical, Partnerships, Operations, Marketing, Engineering, Product, and more. We’re committed to reimagining how mental health is treated.

While psychiatric providers often support people with PTSD through medication management, that’s just one part of the picture. They also help people feel heard, respected, and informed. A strong provider-patient relationship — one that centers autonomy and trust — is a powerful factor in healing. Psych NPs and psychiatrists can also: - Offer referrals to trauma-informed therapy - Collaborate with your broader care team - Provide education that reduces shame and increases understanding - Help you build long-term coping tools to manage symptoms At Rula, we believe high-quality care starts with providers who treat the whole person, not just the prescription. Smartphones are practically a childhood rite of passage now, but new research is prompting important questions. A recent study from the Journal of Human Development and Capabilities found that children, especially girls, who own smartphones before age 13 may experience worse mental health outcomes later in life. And this comes alongside a 2022 report from Georgetown University’s Center for Children & Families showing that rates of anxiety and depression among kids have risen steadily over the past five years. As a parent or caregiver, this kind of data can feel overwhelming. How do you support a child who’s struggling with anxiety, especially in a world that feels increasingly out of your control? We put together 4 practical, therapist-informed strategies to support anxious kids — while also giving yourself some grace in the process. If you're a provider working with children and families, what’s something you often recommend to the parents or caregivers you work with? Link in comments to explore more on our blog.

Trauma doesn’t just live in the mind. It can also take a toll on the body. Whether someone has experienced a single distressing event or long-term adversity, trauma can have lasting physical, emotional, and psychological effects. Sometimes it leads to PTSD. Other times, it shows up in subtler ways, like chronic tension, illness, or difficulty feeling safe in everyday life. There’s no single path to healing, but understanding how trauma impacts the body is a powerful starting point. In our latest blog post, we explore a few strategies that can help release emotional trauma and support recovery: https://lnkd.in/euksaf_7 (And if you're a trauma-informed provider, we’d love to hear your perspective. What approaches have you found helpful for clients navigating trauma?)
