Introducing Rare Eau de Parfum our first fine fragrance, crafted to capture the essence of a perfect moment. Warm and decadent with a touch of spice, this eau de parfum opens with notes of creamy caramel and pistachio, gives way to intoxicating vanilla infused with peppery ginger, and then dries down to earthy sandalwood. Five years ago today – on my birthday – I launched the Rare Impact Fund with one goal: to help young people feel seen, supported, and cared for. Mental health is a cause that’s deeply personal to me, and I knew we had the opportunity to create something that could drive real, lasting change. Since then, we’ve reached over 2 million young people globally and supported 30 incredible nonprofit organizations delivering mental health services and education where it’s needed most. But this is just the beginning. To celebrate this milestone, we’re launching the Rare Impact Fund Giving Circle – where people can come together, pool their resources, and support organizations doing life-changing work. It’s about believing in the power of community to create lasting change. If you’re passionate about mental health and want to help us shape what’s next, we’d love to have you join us. Let’s build a future where every young person has the mental health support they deserve. Learn more here: https://lnkd.in/ePWiPCGc

On the first day of the Rare Impact Fund Grantee Capacity Building Workshop, participants and facilitators engaged in a powerful discussion surrounding the challenges of the sector, and the realities of the mental health landscape. Experts like, clinical psychologist and longtime policy advocate Benjamin Miller and Dr. Harold S. Koplewicz of the Child Mind Institute helped frame the current state of philanthropy and mental health—highlighting both the urgent needs and opportunities. With guidance from social impact strategist Jorge Alvarez and Hayley Mead of ICONIQ Impact, our partners explored strategies to adapt to an ever-changing world. Together, they helped illuminate the scale of the mental health crisis, the gaps in care, and the role we all play in reshaping systems. We then turned our focus inward, examining how nonprofit leaders can recalibrate during uncertain times. Led by Christine Chen, of La Piana Consulting, this session offered participants a framework for navigating strategic pivots with clarity and confidence. From funding changes to team capacity and long-term planning, partners had the space to name the hard stuff—and the tools to take it on. And in the final session, Maria Choi and Chun Yee Y. of Raise for Good guided a focused discussion on nonprofit fundraising. The pair spoke to participants about how organizations can implement resilient funding models through diversification, donor storytelling, and a values-based strategy. The day ended with something just as essential: rest and reflection. Teya Knapp, Moradeyo Adeyi, LCSW, and Jasmine Dayze of A Safe Space facilitated a community support circle. A chance to exhale, connect, and remind us that tending to our well-being is just important as the work itself. As day one of the convening came to a close, a common theme emerged: real progress is built through connection. These sessions offered space to step back, ask hard questions, and consider new ways forward. With honesty and shared purpose, we left the room a little clearer and more equipped to keep doing the work that matters. We’re deeply grateful to each speaker, facilitator, and partner for helping us start this gathering with honesty, clarity, and care.

On the final day of the Rare Impact Fund Grantee Capacity Building Workshop, partners put storytelling front and center. Simon Mainwaring, founder of We First, invited participants to reimagine how they communicate the heart of their work. Together, they explored how to distill complex missions into clear, values-driven narratives that are grounded in purpose, led by emotion, and supported through measurable impact. Each partner crafted and pitched their story to a panel of judges, receiving direct, thoughtful feedback designed to help them refine their narratives to truly capture the heart of their mission and the communities they serve. This session captured the deeper purpose of the convening itself: honest dialogue, shared learning, and a collective commitment to growth. It showed us that when leaders are equipped with resources, community, and clarity of voice, the ripple effect is transformative. This is how we build a future where mental health is prioritized, and those doing the work are seen, supported, and heard. A heartfelt thank you to our founder Selena Gomez for her continued commitment; our global nonprofit partners who showed up with courage and openness; and to Simon and our facilitators for their guidance and support. Their dedication and collaboration truly shaped the experience, sparking new ideas, strengthening connections, and reinforcing the notion that none of us do this work alone.

Last week, the Rare Impact Fund had the privilege of gathering our global cohort of nonprofit partners for a first-of-its-kind Capacity Building Workshop in New York City. Designed by and for our nonprofit partners, this event was created to share collective insights, aspirations and opportunity gaps. Over two days, nonprofit leaders and practitioners from across five continents came together to share, learn, and build resilience amid a complex global landscape. The conversations were honest, the connections deep, and the collective energy inspiring. The global group worked with a variety of strategists, thought leaders and philanthropic experts to strengthen programs, compare strategies, and—most importantly—recognize that those doing the work deserve care too. What emerged was a profound sense of hope, solidarity, and a shared vision for what’s possible when community and care come first. Our deepest thanks to all our partners and to the brilliant facilitators who led with insight and empathy. And a special thank you to Google for hosting us at their beautiful Pier 57 Space.

We announced our 2024 Rare Beauty Social Impact Report last week along with hosting our fourth annual Rare Beauty Mental Health Summit. When we launched Rare Beauty, we set out to unite feel-good products with people and purpose. We're proud to continue making strides towards giving people the tools they need to feel less alone in the world. This wouldn't be possible without our team, global community, and partnerships with mental health advocates, experts, creators, and non-profit grantees. Thank you to our amazing speakers: Elyse Cohen, Thema Bryant, Tramaine EL-Amin, Dr. Jenny Taitz, Meena Srinivasan, Adriana Alejandre, Myles Markham, LeAnn Kelch Melendez, Judith Martinez, Jessi Gold, MD MS, Samantha Ng, Ashanti Branch, Cynthia Di Meo, Tara Sigari, Dr. Katie Hurley, Jay Shetty, and Katie Welch. Visit the link below to learn more about the steps we've taken together to reduce the stigma associated with mental health and provide young people with access to the resources they need. This year feels like the culmination of everything we've accomplished until now, and we couldn't have done it without you. https://lnkd.in/gfQjqAXP
