Patrice left the graduates with lessons on finding purpose, focusing on what matters most and embracing optimism as they set out into the world to make their own dreams a reality.

    Last week, I had the deep honor of returning to my alma mater, ESCP Business School, to deliver this year’s commencement address. Standing before the graduates, I reflected on the journey from when I sat in their seat nearly 40 years ago—and shared a few of the important stories and lessons I’ve learned along the way. I spoke about an impactful conversation I had with Ralph when I first joined Ralph Lauren—about the power of having a dream, holding onto it, and stepping into it. I talked about finding purpose, even in the smallest, most unexpected places. About focusing on what truly matters most, even when it requires difficult choices. And about moving with optimism, especially when the path ahead is uncertain. These ideas might sound simple, but living by them isn’t always easy. They've helped me realize my dreams—and I hope these lessons will help others step into theirs. Thank you, ESCP, for welcoming me home. And to the Class of 2024—congratulations.
