Behind every great retail rollout is someone who thinks differently about building. Meet Mike Winters from Singleton Construction, LLC, and see why his approach is 𝐁𝐮𝐢𝐥𝐭 𝐃𝐢𝐟𝐟𝐞𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐭. As Director of Operational Strategy & Growth, Mike drives efficiency, strategic growth, and operational alignment across high-volume, multi-site programs for brands like CVS, Dollar Tree, and Walmart. 𝐇𝐨𝐰 𝐝𝐢𝐝 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐟𝐢𝐫𝐬𝐭 𝐠𝐞𝐭 𝐢𝐧𝐯𝐨𝐥𝐯𝐞𝐝 𝐢𝐧 𝐚𝐫𝐜𝐡𝐢𝐭𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐞 & 𝐞𝐧𝐠𝐢𝐧𝐞𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠? Even as a kid, I was drawn to how things were built. I loved Legos, K'nex, and anything I could take apart and rebuild. Around age 12, I started helping my dad with home renovation projects—framing, drywall, painting, running electrical—and that hands-on learning is what truly sparked my interest in construction. By the time I got to drafting and engineering classes in school, I already knew this was the path I wanted. That early curiosity and drive to build evolved into a career in construction operations, where I get to bring order, strategy, and structure to complex builds. 𝐖𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐚𝐝𝐯𝐢𝐜𝐞 𝐝 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐡𝐚𝐯𝐞 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐬𝐨𝐦𝐞𝐨𝐧𝐞 𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐢𝐫 𝐜𝐚𝐫𝐞𝐫 𝐢𝐧 𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐮𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧? Ask questions, stay curious, and be on the job site as much as possible. There’s no substitute for hands-on experience and learning from the trades and field teams who do the work every day. Also, build strong relationships—this industry runs on trust, communication, and follow-through. Your reputation will carry you far. 𝐖𝐡𝐚𝐭’𝐬 𝐬𝐨𝐦𝐞𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐝𝐨 𝐝𝐢𝐟𝐟𝐞𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐥𝐲? I approach every project with a focus on long-term partnerships, not just deliverables. That means staying hyper-responsive, anticipating needs before they arise, and treating each client's goals like they're my own. Internally, I work to break down barriers between operations and strategy to keep projects moving efficiently while still thinking about growth and scalability for the business. 𝐓𝐞𝐥𝐥 𝐮𝐬 𝐚𝐛𝐨𝐮𝐭 𝐬𝐨𝐦𝐞𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐲𝐨𝐮’𝐫𝐞 𝐜𝐮𝐫𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐥𝐲 𝐥𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠 (𝐰𝐨𝐫𝐤-𝐫𝐞𝐥𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐝 𝐨𝐫 𝐧𝐨𝐭!) Lately, I’ve been digging deeper into AI tools and automation. Not just for project management, but for streamlining business development and client engagement. Shoutout to Mike for sharing his thoughtful perspective and innovative ideas!🧠

On top of designing beautiful spaces, architects are often responsible for permitting tasks as well. They complete due diligence, track project timelines, manage vendors, and prepare submittals, all on top their actual design work. Virginia Maggiore shares how a partner like Pulley has enabled her team to move at the speed of retail. Watch this episode of 𝘗𝘦𝘳𝘮𝘪𝘴𝘴𝘪𝘰𝘯 𝘵𝘰 𝘉𝘶𝘪𝘭𝘥 👉 https://hubs.la/Q03yNDnJ0

Retail architects juggle a lot: they serve clients that are hyper focused on speed, scale, and consistency. So how do great firms like RDC. stay ahead? For Virginia Maggiore, Principal of Store Planning, a critical strategy is building a "kit of parts," or leading with scalable, modular design. 🎧Watch our newest episode of 𝘗𝘦𝘳𝘮𝘪𝘴𝘴𝘪𝘰𝘯 𝘵𝘰 𝘉𝘶𝘪𝘭𝘥 below 👇 Virginia unpacks what it takes to help clients deliver fleets of stores on time and on budget, while balancing high speed with high complexity.

Change of use is one of the most common (and costly) surprises in retail permitting. 😰 Imagine you find the perfect space for your next store: ideal location, affordable, and move-in ready. So you lock in a long-term lease. Then comes the surprise: you can’t actually build. Watch this episode of 𝘗𝘦𝘳𝘮𝘪𝘴𝘴𝘪𝘰𝘯 𝘵𝘰 𝘉𝘶𝘪𝘭𝘥 with Virginia Maggiore, Principal of Store Planning at RDC. 👇

We all love a bowl 🥗 It's fast, versatile, and repeatable. But what you might not see is the operational feat it takes to deliver your favorite $15 lunch quickly, consistently, and with the freshest ingredients. Do you know the ᴘᴇᴏᴘʟᴇ behind our ᴘᴇʀᴍɪᴛs? 👋 Meet Carter Haas (AKA "No Comments Carter!") Carter is an architect with a broad range of experience, including a specialty in laboratory and healthcare design. Fun fact: one of the labs Carter worked on previously was designed to research and train bomb-sniffing locusts! 𝐖𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐡𝐨𝐩𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐭𝐨 𝐢𝐦𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐯𝐞 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐰𝐨𝐫𝐥𝐝 𝐨𝐟 𝐚𝐫𝐜𝐡𝐢𝐭𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐞 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐮𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧? Efficiency - that is a big reason I was drawn to labs and healthcare (and now Pulley!). In lab design, if you can reduce the number of steps between pieces of equipment or make the researchers' processes more efficient, you really play a part in making the world a better place. Same with healthcare: reducing the amount of steps from a patient's bed to the toilet directly correlates with reductions in in-hospital injuries. 𝐖𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐟𝐞𝐚𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐞 𝐢𝐧 𝐏𝐮𝐥𝐥𝐞𝐲 𝐝𝐨 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐥𝐨𝐯𝐞 𝐮𝐬𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐦𝐨𝐬𝐭? The discussion tool - it keeps all correspondence around a task, comment, document, etc. in one place, for all to see. It provides awesome visibility for people not intimately familiar with the project, and also makes it super easy to track down correspondence instead of digging through emails. 𝐖𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐝𝐨 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐰𝐢𝐬𝐡 𝐦𝐨𝐫𝐞 𝐜𝐥𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐬 𝐰𝐨𝐮𝐥𝐝 𝐝𝐨 𝐰𝐡𝐞𝐧 𝐮𝐬𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐏𝐮𝐥𝐥𝐞𝐲? Invite all of their consultants: architects, engineers, contractors. When everyone is on the project in Pulley, outcomes are so much better! Carter has absolutely been crushing permits and constantly raising the bar for our team. Thank you for all that you do, "No Comments" Carter! 💪 #MeetTheTeam #ConstructionTech #FasterPermitting #TeamHighlight
