“If you analyze the function of an object, its form often becomes obvious.” – Professor Ferdinand Alexander Porsche

About us

In 1963, Professor Ferdinand Alexander Porsche created one of the most iconic design objects in contemporary history: the Porsche 911. Following his vision to take the principles and myth of Porsche beyond the automotive world, he created the exclusive lifestyle brand Porsche Design in 1972. His philosophy and design language can still be seen in all Porsche Design products today. Every Porsche Design product stands for extraordinary precision and perfection, boasts a high level of technological innovation and seamlessly combines intelligent functionality and puristic design. Created by Studio F. A. Porsche in Austria, our products are sold worldwide in over 130 Porsche Design stores, high-end department stores, exclusive specialist retailers and the official online store (www.porsche-design.us). • What a Night in New York 🌃🤩   On July 23rd, we unveiled the Chronograph 1 – 1975 Limited Edition at the beautiful Watches of Switzerland flagship store in SoHo. In a ceremonial unveiling, our brand ambassador Orlando Bloom revealed the timepiece in front of around 200 watch aficionados, tastemakers, members of the Porsche community and VIP customers. We were honored to welcome Ferdi Porsche and Benjamin Clymer from Hodinkee, for an exclusive panel talk on Porsche Design’s rich heritage, innovation, and the future of watchmaking.    This wasn’t the only highlight of the evening: we also celebrated the beginning of our exclusive U.S. retail partnership with Watches of Switzerland Group PLC one of the world’s largest multichannel retailers of prestige timepieces with whom we share a passion for Swiss precision, design excellence, and craftsmanship.   The Chronograph 1 – 1975 Limited Edition pays tribute to its 1975 predecessor with an uncoated, glass bead-blasted titanium case that continues a legacy of innovation and performance-driven design.   Guests explored the new model and other Porsche Design watches at a dedicated Try-On Bar, then toasted to the moment with a delightful cocktail reception featuring DJ Bri Lessie. The Chronograph 1 – 1975 Limited Edition is now available at Watches of Switzerland SoHo in New York and other selected locations in the U.S. as well as at watchesofswitzerland.com and additionally through Porsche and Porsche Design. • Redefining aesthetics since 1975. Porsche Design debuts the Chronograph 1 – 1975 Limited Edition: a tribute to five decades of purposeful watchmaking, and the first Chronograph 1 in uncoated titanium not tied to a special-edition Porsche sports car. The new edition is limited to 350 pieces and draws direct inspiration from the 1975 Chronograph I made from uncoated stainless-steel. Now, exactly 50 years later, Porsche Design brings back the natural uncoated look with a titanium case and bracelet glass bead-blasted for a refined, matte finish. Pairing a matte-black dial with high-contrast white indices, numerals and hands as well as a striking red stop-seconds hand – the Chronograph 1 – 1975 Limited Edition references the historic dashboard of the Porsche 911. Inside, the COSC-certified WERK 01.240 flyback movement underscores the mechanical precision behind the design. The launch also marks the beginning of a new retail chapter: Porsche Design Timepieces are now available in the U.S. through an exclusive retail partnership with the Watches of Switzerland Group PLC Find out more about the Chronograph 1 – 1975 Limited Edition here: https://lnkd.in/ePpjF62Z #PorscheDesign #Watchmaking #PorscheDesignTimepieces #Timepieces #Chronograph1 #1975

  • Another one for the history books – a testament for exceptional craftsmanship. The Chronograph 1 – F.A.T. 2025 Edition has just brought home yet another Red Dot Design Award – marking a stunning milestone amongst the numerous awards that have been won in various categories in the past years. Each award is more than a trophy – it’s a celebration of obsession over detail, relentless innovation, and the passion of an extraordinary team, who pours their heart into every curve, material, and mechanism. “As a very well-rendered tribute to motor racing, the Chronograph 1 – F.A.T. 2025 Edition strikes a clever balance between retro charm and modern appeal.” said the Red Dot Award Jury about the timepiece. Awarded in the category of luxury design & lifestyle, the timepiece is a testament to exceptional precision craftsmanship . It was developed in collaboration with F.A.T. International and is inspired by the Porsche 962 that won the 24h of Le Mans in 1994. Its fully luminous dial – coated entirely in Super-LumiNova® – pushes the boundaries of function and aesthetics. Carsten Monnerjan, Head of Design at Porsche Lifestyle Group, and Senior Designer Adam Bieta accepted the award at the Red Dot Award Gala in Essen – representing the team behind a timepiece that reflects not only Porsche Design’s DNA, but also the continued evolution of its design language. The recognition reflects a design philosophy first established by F. A. Porsche – where function defines form, and longevity is built into every detail. • The 911 Carrera RS 2.7 made waves in 1972. In 2025, it’s doing it again – this time on water. Porsche is teaming up once again with California-based Almond Surfboards to unveil a second limited-edition collaboration. Inspired by the iconic Carrera RS 2.7, the new 6’ winged swallowtail surfboard is both a design object and performance gear - handcrafted in California, wrapped in fiberglass, and available in Grand Prix White with Classic Blue, Red, or Green accents. Limited to only 72 boards. “The winged single fin is a shape that came out of the ’70s - built for speed and drive in more powerful waves. It felt like the right way to honor both the era and the performance legacy of the RS,” says Dave Allee, founder of Almond Surfboards. “We are thrilled to continue our partnership with Almond Surfboards for the second year in a row, this time celebrating one of the most celebrated 911 models of all time,” adds Karsten von Engeln, President & CEO, Porsche Design of America, Inc. “The board looks just as good in the water, as it does on the roof of a Porsche, or on the wall in your home.” When Porsche first introduced the 911 RS 2.7 in 1972, its high-performance 2.7-liter engine, clean lines, and signature spoiler, colloquially called “ducktail”, garnered a global fan base. In addition to the board, a laid-back capsule collection perfectly captures a surf-meets-engineered-performance spirit. From hand-stitched sweatshirts to surf flags bearing “Zuffenhausen” or “Weissach” prints, subtle details echo Porsche’s legacy and Southern California surf culture. This is more than a surfboard. It’s a continuation of a story that started in 1972. Available now at Porsche Design stores, select Porsche centers, Almond Surfboards and https://lnkd.in/e8KTjT_Q Single Fins & Air Cooled Engines. Inspired by Speed & Salty Air. #PorschexAlmond #MadeInCalifornia #PorschePassion #HeritageAndDesign #SurfCulture #Surfboards #AlmondSurfboards
