  • 🚨 Hiring Phishing Scam Alert We’ve recently learned of a phishing scam where individuals are impersonating New Engen’s recruitment team. These scammers are using a fraudulent email address (@newengen.online) to contact potential candidates through text messages and fraudulent job offers. 🔑 What you should know: • New Engen does not use @newengen.online for any hiring or recruitment communication. • Official communication will always come from @newengen.com — never from @newengen.online. • Our recruitment outreach is conducted via email through our ATS, JazzHR, and only after candidates have applied and opted into text communication. You will never receive unsolicited text messages. • During the initial stages of recruitment, we will never ask for sensitive information or identification documents. • If you applied through JazzHR and opted into text communication, you will only receive texts after a video call with a recruiter and a follow-up conversation. ⚠️ If you believe you’ve been affected by this scam or have received suspicious messages, please reach out to us immediately at peopleteam@newengen.com. We understand how frustrating this situation can be, and we’re here to support you. Our priority is ensuring all communication remains secure and legitimate. 🔗 To explore current opportunities at New Engen, visit: New Engen Careers We take these matters very seriously and are investigating the situation thoroughly. Please stay alert and engage only through secure, verified channels.

I find the current state of AI discourse in marketing fairly out of touch from the day to day (I am guilty of perpetuating this). Most discussions are either: - Extremely complex - i.e. use chat gpt to produce a prompt as a creative strategist, that you feed into perplexity, to inform your Claude prompt, which you then turn into an n8n workflow etc. - Extremely abstract - projections 5-10 years out, hypotheses, bold claims about whether AI will take your job, the death of advertising etc. This complexity and abstraction can lead to inaction born out of pure overwhelm. However, I think inaction is the ONE thing you cannot do with regard to AI. You need to be experimenting and gaining comfortability, even if at a low scale. With that, there are two areas I have found the discourse and/or testing opportunities to be highly practical and actionable - AEO/GEO and Platform AI tools. AEO/GEO - there is no better follow on this subject than Josh Blyskal. I'll share my thoughts on this in a future post, but Josh presents clear data and a number of very simple actions you can take to improve your AEO/GEO "ranking". On the platform side, this is the most actionable space for the average marketer. Every major publisher is rolling out AI products across bidding, budgeting, creative iteration and delivery. In most cases, these are fairly simple tools that can be activated with an on/off toggle. We’ve run a number of tests over the last year focused on new AI products from Google & Meta. Below is sampling of client results against those products: - Meta AI Text Generation: -36% CPA, +22% CTR - Meta Product Feed Image Enhancement - +32% CVR, + 19% ROAS - Meta’s Advantage + Creative Enhancements - +29% ROAS, +16% CTR - Google's AI Search Exploration - +24% revenue lift We know from the recent Haus meta-analysis re: ASC that these numbers may not be universal, or sustainable. And these tools of course present a good bit of risk, due to the nature of AI. Because of that, what is more important are micro-experiments to learn and stay informed vs. large scale experiments intended to shape your channel strategy at scale. You can run these as platform A/B tests and focus less on incrementality for now. At this stage, I care more about: 1. Building comfortability with testing  2. Building comfortability with AI 3. Staying at the cutting edge of innovation (or knowing what this looks like) The above doesn't mean you can't/shouldn't run legit experiments (some of the above tests were run as true experiments with winning results rolled out at scale). But don't let precision block you from low-risk innovation. As a general rule, we see the early adopters grow much faster than their peers. This is not necessarily a byproduct of the tools/features they test, but a result of the experimentation mindset and willingness to try new things and prove your past self wrong. If you haven't already, it's time to start experimenting with platform AI tools. New Engen

🤝 Real conversations. Fresh ideas. Seattle summer at its best. Earlier this month, we brought our New Engen Advisory Board together for a day of connection, collaboration—and a look at the big questions shaping our business. A group of thoughtful, experienced advisors joined us at our Seattle HQ to explore where we are, where we’re headed, and how marketing is evolving. Here’s a glimpse at what we covered: 📌 Growth Priorities – We focused on the key areas driving our business forward—and gathered insights to accelerate impact. 📊 Digital Shifts – From creative to media to measurement, we explored the trends pushing the industry ahead. 🤖 AI for Marketers – We opened the hood on how we’re using AI across creative and media strategy—and left with bold ideas to go even further. In true PNW fashion, we capped the day with a sunny afternoon out on the water. From big thinking to blue skies, this one set the bar. CEO & Cofounder @ Donut Digital (Acquired by New Engen)

Been getting a lot of questions about what tools we use in our AI stack at Donut Studios/New Engen — so let’s start with design 🍩 The examples you see here were built like so: — Curate: product photos, brand elements, color palette — Generate: scenes with ChatGPT+ (w/ strong visual references) — Clean up: lighting, edges, product distortions, etc. with Photoshop — Build: layout, text, logo, CTA with Figma — Animate: add motion in After Effects if needed 🎞️ Honorable mentions: Adobe Firefly, Google Imagen, Midjourney for stylized/surreal compositions, and Runway ML for motion effects. And of course, the art is in the prompt 🎨 We like to include things like format specs (like “9x16 vertical”), product pngs, reference images, lighting direction, and camera style. Here’s an example: “Create a photorealistic 9x16 vertical image inspired by the style of a high-end skincare shoot. Keep the composition soft and editorial. Use soft morning light coming through a sheer curtain. The scene should feature a minimal stone vanity with a single amber serum bottle in focus, surrounded by dewy moisture on the surface. Keep the bottle shape and label exactly as provided. Add slight shadowing for depth, and maintain product realism.” The more specific you are, the better it gets. AI can build the pieces, you still have to direct the shoot!
