Earlier this week, we shared the exciting news about our partnership with the State of North Carolina. In our latest blog post, we took a closer look at what that actually means for the 550,000 State Health Plan members we’ll be supporting and why it matters. Here’s the gist: • High-quality surgical care at no cost to members • Our Network of Excellence is comprised of fellowship-trained surgeons with <1% complication rates • Members are matched with top-tier surgeons within driving distance • Dedicated nurse navigators and care advocates for every member Our goal is for this partnership to be a win-win-win. North Carolina’s best surgeons get connected easily with people who need their care, the state saves money, and, most importantly, North Carolina’s public employees have the best possible surgery experience with no bills at the end. This is how we’re reimagining specialty care. Read our full blog entry with all the details: https://lnkd.in/gYuK69m9

CEO | Spine Surgeon | Driving Value-Based, Physician-Led Orthopedic Care

Big news out of North Carolina: The State Health Plan just announced a new partnership offering no-cost surgical benefits to its members. https://lnkd.in/g2NHdi9c This program is a reflection of where healthcare is headed. At OrthoCarolina, we’ve spent the last few years shifting from a volume-driven model to one that prioritizes value. This means doing fewer things, better. Expanding ASCs. Investing in surgical precision and patient education. And putting clinical decisions back where they belong: in the hands of physicians, not insurance algorithms. Programs like this show what’s possible when we stop asking, “How do we do more?” and start asking, “How do we do what matters most?” This model supports what we believe: - Value-based care lowers cost without sacrificing quality - Ambulatory surgery centers bring care closer to patients - Physician leadership keeps outcomes the priority, not revenue We’re proud to be part of a healthcare ecosystem that’s rethinking access, affordability, and clinical excellence. This is the kind of innovation we’ll keep investing in because everyone benefits when healthcare gets simpler, smarter, and more strategic. #HealthcareLeadership #OrthopedicCare #NorthCarolinaHealthcare

    SVP Public Sector at Lantern

This is unquestionably one of the highlights of my nearly 10-year career focused on serving the public sector. Starting this fall, more than 550,000 North Carolina public employees and their families will have access to no-cost, high-quality surgical care through Lantern. It’s a solution designed to lower spend, improve outcomes, and make care more human—because those who serve our communities deserve nothing less.
