They’ve commanded troops. Modernized fleets. Shaped military operations. Now, they’re helping guide what we believe is the future of autonomous defense technology. Kodiak has formed the Defense Advisory Council—composed of retired senior military leaders with deep experience across combat operations, acquisition, and modernization—to help guide the deployment of Kodiak’s autonomous vehicle technology in defense markets. LTG. (Ret.) Ross Coffman—former Deputy Commanding General of Army Futures Command—is joined by General (Ret) Frank McKenzie U.S. Marines —former Commander of U.S. Central Command—and Vice Admiral (Ret.) Michael Moran—former Principal Military Deputy for Navy R&D—as the founding members. Their mission: Advise Kodiak on how to deploy the Kodiak Driver to support servicemembers across logistics, mobility, and contested environments—with speed, safety, and impact. With decades of leadership, including CENTCOM, Naval Air Systems Command, and Army Futures Command, they bring operational and strategic insight into deploying AI-powered autonomous systems where they’re needed most.

We’ve built for whatever the road brings. Many runs between Dallas and Houston, stitched together into one continuous drive. Each clip picks up where the last left off—but the conditions shift: rain, glare, traffic, shadows. Different days. Different trucks. Same stretch of highway. Same consistent performance. These shifts in light, weather, and traffic aren’t obstacles; they’re part of the job. The Kodiak Driver, powered by AI and equipped with Kodiak Vision, combines input from LiDAR, radar, and cameras to monitor the driving environment, anticipate changes, and respond with precision. Because autonomy isn’t about perfect conditions—it’s about dependable performance in imperfect ones. This is how we support commercial freight: day and night, dry or wet, consistent and scalable. Autonomy that works—when and where it’s needed.

A great driver doesn’t just see what’s around—it stays aware of where things are and how they’re moving in its environment. Our AI does the same. The Kodiak Driver layers sensing, perception, and localization to continuously monitor its surroundings. It tracks vehicles, maps behavior, and adjusts in real time—delivering reliable performance in complex, real-world conditions.

Mohamed (Mo) Elshenawy joins Kodiak’s board of directors! Mo’s track record speaks for itself—former President and CTO at Cruise, global engineering leader at Amazon’s ReCommerce business, and now CTO at Hims & Hers. He’s scaled AI-powered platforms in autonomous vehicles, e-commerce, and digital health. Mo brings sharp technical judgment, a deep understanding of operational complexity, and firsthand experience deploying autonomy in the real world. We're glad to have his insight as we continue to scale the Kodiak Driver across commercial and public sector applications. Learn more: https://lnkd.in/gCQ7hXMX

An isolated member of a Special Operations team. A rotor-wing evac point miles away. Autonomous vehicles deployed for recovery. At Tactical Warfighter Innovation Exchange (TWIX), hosted by MITRE, CENTCOM and ARCENT leaders watched the Kodiak Driver autonomously execute a live demonstration of a recovery mission: extracting an isolated operator and delivering them to a rotor-wing evac point—without putting more soldiers in harm’s way. The mission was a live demonstration of how autonomy can support real-world operations across complex terrain. We showed what’s possible when AI takes the wheel: – Extended reach – Improved efficiency – Fewer lives at risk The mission is changing. The Kodiak Driver is ready.

Autonomy isnt a test. It’s our daily routine. Seven consecutive days. The same stretch of highway. Different trucks, different weather, different conditions—because that’s how the real world works. Every clip you see is a Kodiak Driver-equipped truck in motion, delivering freight for a commercial partner. No filters, no shortcuts—just consistent, repeatable performance, day in and day out.

We’re showcasing the future of autonomous trucking right here in our hometown. Join us at the Mountain View Technology Showcase this Thursday, July 17, from 11:00–3:00 at the Civic Center Plaza, where you can check out a Kodiak Driver-equipped truck up close and meet the team behind the technology. This event celebrates the cutting-edge innovation happening in the heart of Silicon Valley—and we’re proud to be part of it. Our Mountain View HQ team will be on hand to answer your questions about the technology powering the Kodiak Driver and what it takes to safely deploy autonomy at scale. If you're curious about how AI is transforming long-haul freight, stop by and say hello.

Kodiak has been named to the 2025 #NatSec100, Silicon Valley Defense Group's annual list of the top venture-backed companies advancing U.S. national security. This recognition underscores our commitment to delivering what we believe is cutting-edge autonomous technology that helps enhance safety and efficiency—not only in commercial trucking, but also in critical defense applications. We're honored to be included alongside many of our peers driving real progress in the national security space. The Kodiak Driver is our advanced autonomy system, operational today with millions of commercial miles behind it. Built to scale, it’s modular, AI-powered, and dual-use by design. We’ll be in Detroit for Reindustrialize 2025, July 16–17, to continue that conversation—focused on how autonomy can modernize logistics, strengthen the U.S. industrial base, and increase resilience across commercial and defense operations. The Kodiak Defense team is heading to Military Robotics and Autonomous Systems USA, July 9–11, in Arlington, VA. If you're attending, let's connect to talk about how the Kodiak Driver—a virtual driver that combines AI-powered software with modular, durable hardware—can support your mission. We’re bringing the same autonomous technology that’s driven millions of commercial miles, including on highways and in the harsh terrain of the Permian Basin, to uncrewed military platforms. This video shows a DefensePod swap on Textron Systems’ RIPSAW M3. These modular pods share the same DNA as those used in Kodiak Driver-equipped commercial trucks today—designed for rapid replacement with standard tools. This can lead to faster repairs, greater uptime, and mission-ready performance. While the M3 won’t be on-site, our team will be—and we’re ready to discuss how advanced autonomy can help enhance operational effectiveness across logistics, mobility, and high-risk operations.
