In Memoriam: Harry Gaples It is with deep sadness that we share the passing of Harry Gaples, former President and CEO of Kleinschmidt, Inc., on Tuesday, May 27, 2025. Harry was a visionary leader who helped shape Kleinschmidt into what it is today—a leading provider of network-based eBusiness solutions and the largest privately owned firm dedicated exclusively to electronic data interchange (EDI). His impact on the company and the industry was immeasurable. Beyond his corporate leadership, Harry served for over a decade as a director of NorStates Bank and NorStates Financial Corporation, bringing his business insight and steady guidance to the financial world as well. Harry held a Master of Arts degree from the University of Minnesota and an MBA from the University of Chicago, reflecting a lifelong commitment to learning and excellence. But perhaps most inspiring was his dedication to improving lives beyond the boardroom. As co-founder of the Gaples Institute, Harry championed physician-led nutrition and lifestyle education in medicine. Through this nonprofit, he helped create dynamic, award-winning programs that empowered both the public and health professionals with knowledge to lead healthier lives. Harry’s legacy lives on through the countless lives he touched—with his leadership, generosity, and unwavering belief in doing good work that matters. Our thoughts are with his family, friends, and all who had the honor of working with him. He will be deeply missed.
