Access to quality surgical care is essential for communities to thrive. Yet, for many people around the world, access remains out of reach.
That’s why, for more than 35 years, Johnson & Johnson has partnered with Operation Smile—beginning with a single donation of sutures and growing into a global, multi-dimensional collaboration that is now part of our J&J CareCommunity platform.
Together, we’re equipping health workers with the tools, training, and resources needed to provide cleft lip and palate care in communities around the world.
At the heart of this initiative are our dedicated J&J employee volunteers, also known as “Smile Champions.” More than 50,000 employees have volunteered their time, talent, and expertise to help support Operation Smile.
For the second episode of The Red Couch on the Road, I sat down with two of these incredible Smile Champions, Fernanda Oliveira and Jim Richardson, for a conversation about their experiences volunteering with Operation Smile.
Thank you to Fernanda, Jim, and all of our Smile Champions. Your leadership and commitment to this work is a testament to how small beginnings can scale meaningful change.
