DCH leaders and staff from the Office of Inspector General and Healthcare Facility Regulation Division recently joined the Georgia Health Care Association for its annual summer conference in Amelia Island, Florida. Team members led sessions on long-term care, shared regulatory insights, and connected with providers on ways to strengthen Georgia’s healthcare system. DCH also hosted an informational booth where staff provided insight into how the state conducts both state and federal criminal history background checks – an essential part of ensuring safe, high-quality care.

DCH, in collaboration with the Georgia Cyber Innovation & Training Center (GCC) and the Georgia Department of Public Health (DPH), recently launched a groundbreaking cybersecurity pilot project at Memorial Hospital and Manor in Bainbridge, GA. The project aimed to provide critical support to this rural hospital to help them defend against evolving cyber threat, and ensure that it can continue delivering lifesaving care without disruption.

The Georgia House Study Committee on Cancer Care Access is making its way across the state to discuss rural areas’ access to cancer care, cancer prevention, workforce shortages, and the crucial role that hospitals play in cancer detection and treatment.
