"I was in the back half of my career and realized—if I was ever going to do something I actually enjoyed, now was the time,” says Mike Witt, a 60-year-old recent graduate of Ford’s dealer technician training program. Mike’s significant career change was the result of finding the Ford training program at a local community college. "It was affordable, hands-on, and led to real credentials." This year during Ford Intern Volunteer Week, our Ford interns truly showed up for communities! ✨ 242 interns dedicated a collective 573.5 volunteer hours with incredible community partners, including Gleaners Community Food Bank of Southeastern Michigan and Forgotten Harvest . A highlight of their efforts was at Gleaners, where interns packed and sorted an astonishing 50,000 lbs. of food, translating to 40,000 meals for area families! And they learned a few things, too. Connor Hoy has found that "there is a large need for milk! Shelf stable foods are staples for food banks like Gleaners because of time constraints with distribution. This leaves a gap for milk which is an important part of diets, especially for growing children." Michael Villeneuve learned more about what goes into tasks that people usually overlook, like packaging cans and boxes. "Gleaners has it down to a science and every little contribution goes a long way." Our interns are joining a long legacy of Ford employees who have strengthened our impact in communities. Since 2005, Ford employees have dedicated over 1.7 million volunteer hours to causes they care about through the Ford Volunteer Corps. Thank you to Ford Philanthropy for guiding the way. Ready to join a company that believes in giving back? Learn more: http://spr.ly/6044fu8vn #WeAreFord #FordIntern #FordPhilanthropy

Hi there! My name is Emily Johnson, and I’m a graduate student at Michigan State University pursuing a Master of Arts in Strategic Communication and Digital Media Graduate Certificate. This summer, I’m thrilled to be a #FordIntern on the Employee Communications team at Ford Motor Company, where I help craft internal stories, analyze employee engagement, and connect teams through clear and creative messaging. I’m also honored to be a Ford Social Ambassador! That means I get to share what makes this company, and this internship, so exciting. From developing content strategies to creating engaging digital campaigns, every day brings something new. One highlight? Supporting communications for major internal events and getting an inside look at how Ford promotes innovation and community from the ground up. Follow along as I take over the @FordCareers Instagram stories during the Rouge Complex Family Open House and give you a peek into a #DayintheLife of a Ford Intern: http://spr.ly/6048f3QA8

“When the flooding hit North Carolina last year, I was shocked and amazed when Ford asked if I wanted to go back to my hometown area and help with disaster relief and clean up,” says Ryan Smart, a military and veteran outreach specialist on Ford’s Talent Acquisition team. “That truly is exceptional leadership and employer commitment at a whole new level.” That’s not the first time Ryan has helped in disaster zones. In 1999, he was sent to help clean up after Hurricane Floyd as part of the Army National Guard and that’s when he knew he wanted to continue helping people. He spent the last 15 years of his decorated 24-year military career focusing on recruiting, outreach and helping his fellow service members transition into civilian jobs. That experience made for a perfect glide path to his current position at Ford. “I had received other job offers while transitioning out, but Ford Motor Company really stood out to me. During the offer process, I spoke with Michelle Johnson, a director in Talent Acquisition, and she said, ‘Here at Ford, we’re not just changing lives. We’re looking to change family trees.’ That was a powerful statement that really resonated with me, and I knew this was the company I wanted to work for.” “The military community is a very close, tight-knit group across all branches. It’s a supportive environment for families and individuals. I worried that I might lose that connection when I left the military. I was wrong. Ford Motor Company is exactly like that.” Ryan is able to provide that assurance to other veterans and transitioning service members who are considering Ford careers. “I enjoy helping them see how their military experience can transfer effectively into new jobs in ways they may not have realized. I mentor, help refine resumes, and provide perspective from someone who’s been in their shoes.” He’s also been able to continue helping others outside his day-to-day duties as part of Ford’s veteran employee resource group, VETNG, and doing disaster relief work in places like Florida and North Carolina as part of Ford’s partnership with Team Rubicon. His message to other veterans and service members? “I can confidently say that every vehicle that comes off the line has had a veteran involved in one way or another, whether it be recruiting, HR, building, development, assembly, transport, or quality control. You can use your skills and accomplishments to start your next chapter at Ford.” Ready to apply your military experience to a whole new challenge? Learn more at http://spr.ly/6040fzofw #WeAreFord

Hi there! My name is Amber Lane and I’m a senior at Kelley School of Business Indianapolis, double majoring in Business Marketing and Management. This summer, I'm thrilled to be a #FordIntern at Ford Credit! It’s been a great opportunity to experience the wide range of roles across Ford Credit and contribute to key projects that enhance their business processes. In addition to my “day job”, I'm excited to also be serving as a social ambassador, where I can share a behind-the-scenes look at life as a Ford Credit intern and temporary Michigander. Ford has provided a lot of networking opportunities to expand my professional and personal connections and contribute to the collaborative culture I see all around me. It’s also been fascinating to learn how the company integrates its rich history and heritage into its modern business strategies. If you'd like to learn more, join me as I take over the @FordCareers Instagram stories TODAY starting at 9:30 a.m. ET for a special "Pedal to the Metal" Intern Appreciation Day event: http://spr.ly/6041fKJQB We’ll attend a Fireside Chat with Bill Ford, enjoy the food and meet more of my fellow interns!

Today marks 28 years with #FordMotorCompany — a journey I’m incredibly proud of and deeply grateful for. Over nearly three decades, #Ford has given me more than just a career. It has given me the opportunity to grow, learn, and lead across cultures and continents. With 10 moves and 14 years spent in Asia — including unforgettable experiences in Japan, China, and Thailand — I’ve seen firsthand how mobility and innovation can bring the world closer together. The personal and professional growth I’ve experienced has been shaped by inspiring teams, challenging assignments, and a company that values purpose, resilience, and global collaboration. Thank you to all the colleagues, mentors, and friends who’ve been part of this journey. Here’s to continuing the drive forward — with gratitude for where I’ve been, and excitement for what lies ahead.
